Whose Bon Jovi reviews? I don't have any on NLTM and reading through the review on Metal-Metropolis, they all seem pretty positive. What do you disagree with? Hey kmorg, found a few errors while reading through the BonJovi section. Slipper When WetThe albums contains more Bon Jovi classics than any album that exceeds it. | We'll all find something we disagree with somewhere. "That album sucks!" or "That album is awesome, how can you hate it so much?" will be said at least once.

| i don't agree with your review of rushs 'counterparts.' i find it similar to 'test for echo.' they cut the keyboards, alex lifeson is back front and centre and geddy stopped playing funky and got his old j bass back. 'stick it out' is probably the heaviest rush song ever written | |

| Ult, this isn't a disagreement, but I didn't want to waste space for a new topic just to ask a question.
I was listening to Tourniquet-POD on my in this morning, I know from your review Ritter left in the middle of that recording and half of the album was him, the other half the guitarist. But what the heck is up with the last song on that cd, The Tempter? Not only are the vocals different (could just be me) but the guitar sounds like a totally different band.... like Deliverance almost, same kind of distortion. Do you know anything about that song?

| T-roy,the Tempter is a cover of a TROUBLE song.It wasnt on the original P.O.D disc,so you must have a reissue.TROUBLE is a doom/stoner band,so thats probably the difference you're hearing | |

Pathogenic was first released on Intense Records in 1992, but their distribution was only in the Christian market. Metal Blade later picked up the release for the general metal market in 1993. "The Tempter" was taken off the bands "Intense Live Series" CD and added as a bonus track to the Metal Blade version of "Pathogenic". Indeed, it is a different sound because it is a cover of Trouble, a great, classic doom band and it was recorded live in the studio. It's sort of a similar situation to Ultimatum "Mechanics of Perilous Times." The album was released in the US in 2000, but was picked up by Massacre Records in Germany, but wasn't released there until 2001. So neither are 'reissues', even though they came out at different times. ult

| Well that's interesting. I bought the original CD as a new release in '92. But I just recent'y bought it on Itunes and it had differen't art and the live POD at the end. But come to think of it, I don't ever remember hearing Tempter on my old CD. Don't think I have it anymore. Thanks brothers! | |

Of course Pathogenic has been re-released with several bonus tracks and all new artwork too. You can see it on my site. ult

| Your review of the Judas Priest album Turbo really had me scratching my head. How did they lose you. I think it is one of their best. No it wasn't Screaming for Vengeance, or Defenders of the Faith, but that is exactly the point. Who in recorded history could match the impressive use of the synth-guitar. No one, not even Alan Holdsworth. Many artists or bands tried to incorporate the newest and latest technology of midi and the computer to music and most sounded like they were still practicing. I know for many metal fans it was really a look both ways to see who is looking before you decide if you like it. Most did and didn't admit it just look at the album and ticket sales. Turbo sounded just like Judas Priest and it was a testament to how talented they are. I was really impressed with how well the guitar and synth worked. All of the songs really pushed the envelope. They created an album that had a continuous and familiar thread throughout. As far as singling out Parental Guidance as a stupid anthem, how about United, eat me alive, or even love bites. Wow, poets they are not. I don't look at Turbo as being a departure for the band, but rather a step forward. They did what they wanted to and not what was expected. The album came at a time when electronic music seemed to be everywhere and most of it really sucked. I really don't see the pop or sold outside that so many point to when this album is mentioned. I heard pioneering artists again redefining heavy metal just like they did so many times before. Once Turbo lover kicked in I knew they had hit it. Judas Priest has always been about bridging the gap between radio and heavy metal. Many of their albums have built in hits perfectly suited for airplay on any rock radio station. Their music as always been ambiguous enough to pass the litmus test, but rough enough to rock. I love the guitar and that is why I like this album so much, the guitar kicks butt. You can't help but to be influenced by what is going on around you, and I think that Priest took the environment around them and channeled it into a hard rocking version only they could deliver. I wrote this while listening to Defenders of the Faith. I have since re-read the review and would like to withdraw my post. | |

Yes, plenty of good songs on Unmasked that sound sort of light weight thanks to a wimpy production by Vince Poncia. I didn't say it was their worst, I said it is rated as such my many fans. I actually like it, but that is nostalgia as much as anything.

I don't hate this CD, although it's far from being a favorite in the Priest catalog. I did hate it when it first came out but like some songs on it now. I still think that Parental Guidance is a corny song though.
