I pretty much think your criticism of Def Leppard could be applied to Aerosmith. =) I've always thought that. But, of course, I'm a Def Leppard fan boy and you're an Aerosmith fanboy, so both bands likely just really suck right now. Hahaha.

I've always thought you could've been more harsh on Aerosmith. And I agree with what Eyesore has said - you can basically apply your criticism of Def Leppard to Aerosmith. I am a fanboy of neither.

Personally, I don't feel Aerosmith did the same thing as Def Leppard, but I am an Aerosmith fanboy.



What I was really saying was, post a specific review in a new topic
from one of our sites and point out what you disagree with. Shoot, I've
changed my mind on albums based on things people have mailed me. (Iron
Maiden's X Factor was on such album.)

There is one thing that always stuck on me on your Judas Priest "Ram It Down" review,

"Judas Priest should never have covered "Johnny B. Goode." Despite this aweful song, the rest of the album is an improvement over "Turbo".

I agree the album was way better then Turbo but I love the Johnny B. Goode cover, didn't find it horrible! Lol other then that I've pretty much discovered bands thanks to your reviews like KISS <3

I think I'll do one for Def Leppard's X. I'm surprised you liked that album. Aside from two or three songs, I despise that album. And that's very hard for me to come to terms with.

You could have mentioned that Eric Sardinas is the greatest living
guitar player on the planet today. All others should lay down
thier axes and just bath in the warm glorious light that streams from
his fretboard and wrap themselves in the pure love that is his sounds.

Or you could just leave it. I am proud that he is on there at all, actually. haha

Hmmm, will have to re-read my review. It's been a while since I've listened to that one, or read the review. I don't recall giving it a glowing review. From what I remember it's a very mellow album.

Judas Priest - Johnny B. Goode.

Sorry bro. I detest that cover. Perhaps it was good for the movie soundtrack it was originally intended for, but it just should have not been included on a regular Judas Priest album. Unlike other covers like Diamonds and Rust or Green Manalishi, which Priest totally owned and made their own, the JBG cover just came off as cheesy.

a facade to sell records to mindless people? It's like saying that Angel of Death was a Nazi song - and like that song was a criticism of nazism, many others (Cult for example) are criticising the organized religion - in a very, very intelligent way I'd say.

I changed it. The meaning was supposed to be that I like all the tracks, but if I had to make a best-of list, then I think I'd leave out "Trapped Under Ice".

Definatley the review for Megadeth's Risk. I've given this disk alot of spins latley and its really grown on me, its not a bad album at all.... but i'd have to say doesen't fit Megadeth.

Just re-read your Raven page on NLTM and find it hard to believe that you like "GLOW" better than the mighty, massive, incredibly awesome ARCHITECT OF FEAR?? Not that GLOW is a bad album, because it's not at all (even though the production stinks) but I personally felt that ARCHITECT was their best album since ALL FOR ONE!!

Then again, as I've said many a time on this board, all Raven is good Raven in my book (yes, even THE PACK IS BACK) so I suppose it really doesn't matter ...

I like both Architect of Fear AND Glow. Glow is a very different album though, IMO. It's a bit more melodic that what I am use to hearing from Raven. For some reason that album just really grabbed my attention when I first received it.

I agree, all Raven is good Raven. However, some is obviously better than others. Pack is Back would be at the bottom of my list because it was an album forced upon the band by corporate big wigs. Rock Til You Drop would probably rank at #1.

I think "Johnny B Goode" has better guitar work than many of their other covers which just feature stock bare-bones power chords. I think they showed creativity in the way they rearranged the guitar riffs/vocal melodies of a classic rock and roll song to make it sound very "80s metal".

I also think ult went WAY too easy on some bands but this is a fine line that I know is difficult for a reviewer.

Also ult, Temple of Blood covered "Deliver Us From Evil", not "Deadly Blessing". You made a typo on the DB page.
