| Maybe I'm crazy but I think there is a very special distinguising time when everyone is first introduced to heavy metal. For me it was when I was a freshman in high school and I was reading a issue of Revolver magizine in creative writing and there was this article about Blind Guardian rereleasing Battalions of fear and follow the blind. I was so enchanted by the cover art that I was imediately interested in the style of music( and for some reason I thought it was really cool for a metal band to come out of Germany singing about dungeons and dragons). At that point, I couldnt care less what it sounded like. This sparked my love for power metal which grew to loving thrash, death, and hardcore as well. So, whats your first moment in metal? | |

| Another One Bites The Dust - 1980 - I was 6 and fell in love with this song
Twisted Sister - Motley Crue - Quiet Riot - 1983 Kids in the neighborhood blasting tunes from their new albums! It felt so evil but man they were good songs!
Rez Band - Hostage especially the tune Attention 1984 - My first knowledge and exposure to Christian hard music. | |

| I got into general rock at around age 13 through bands like Evanescense, Nickelback and especially Alien Ant Farm, and then a few months later, having been exposed to the epicness of 'Run to the Hills' and 'War Pigs' I was a devoted metal convert. | |

| The year was 1981. I was 11 years old and my parents' cable TV system added a new channel called "MTV" that had just gone on the air. My brother and I sat down to watch it for a while and Judas Priest's video for "Headin Out To The Highway" came on...
