I really like the ballad Second Chance. A song that until recently I didn't know it was them, I heard it a million times but never noticed who did it. Great song.

Same here. I just got one of their greatest hits cds and that song was there and took me by surprise. It has a different singer Max Carl and a less southern rock influence. Great power ballad.

That was after Don Barnes left and was replaced by Jeff Carlisi for many years (88-97) so many people probably didn't realize it (i.e. me).

I know, I messed up, I couldn't remember the repalcement vocalist so I looked in Wikipedia and that was the only name that looked familiar so I copied and pasted it (I should have looked more closely). I should have known better because Bone Against Steel is one of my favoirte AOR discs and Max Carl was the second vocalist on that album. I get names messed up easily sometimes, my memory for names is pretty crappy Smile .

For the "all things 38 Special" enthusiast, Don Barnes' 1989 unreleased solo album "Ride The Storm" is available on a streaming basis here:

Not great, but not terrible.
