Most of those records will probably end up at a Salvation Army or a GoodWill

I wonder if there's 3.300.000 different albums in the collection or
just hundreds of same titles? According to the description on the ebay,
there must be just different stuff, but let's do a little math:

50 years - 18250 days
3.300.000 / 18250 - 180 albums a day.

So he didn't even have a chance to listen to them even once ...

I agree Sovdat....seems pointless. However, he was in it for the History and the Collecting while most of us are in it for music.

It would bet his 3000 best titles alone would be worth 100's of thousands of dollars. He's probably got some crap but if they're all in great shape he has to have some $3000, $5000 titles. Rare Beach Boys or Elvis stuff. Early Hendrix B-sides. Stuff like that.

I wonder what this guy's insurance premiums are. I have an extra rider to cover my CDs because they're estimated worth is between 30K and 50K.
