Is it possible to not like Black Sabbath and be a metal fan?

I remember reading Metal Maniacs one time, and one guy said he likes Sabbath "only after the boring old fart and non-talent Ozzy left!".

I've never cared for Sabbath a whole lot so I would say yes.

I have a friend who is the same way. Loves metal but doesn't like Sabbath I don't see how it's possible but I guess it is.

Anyway - I agree with what the majority have said. Ult summed it up well.

I love Black Sabbath (all eras), but I can understand someone who loves metal not liking Ozzy era BS.

Yeah, you can be a metal fan and not like Black Sabbath. They may have started the genre but they aren't the reason it is still around today. Many different types of fans and styles to fit most everyone's taste. Heck, some can't even agree on what constitutes metal. Personally I like Sabbath whether it is Ozzy, Dio, Gillan, or Martin. Not sure but the Dio era may edge out Ozzy by a hair.
