| Alright this is probably a stupid topic but hey its been on my mind since the other day so I figured what the hell i'll see what everyone else has to say. =o)
Lately ive bought a lot of cds through ebay and most of them have been digi packs. I kind of have a love hate relationship with them. What has really aggrivated me the most was the tray to hold the cd comes unglued.
I know nothings perfect but there has to be some better glue to use on these things.
Now jewelcases are another story. They either get cracked or the teeth on the cd trays get broken etc... But I dont know I think I perfer the jewelcases because atleast you can replace them whereas digi's if something happens to the art work your pretty much screwed.
If it wasnt for bonus tracks or something special that comes with digis (sometimes) I dont think I would even buy them.
One thing I do like about digis more than jewelcases is that I can always squeeze 1 or 2 more cds in my cabinets. without moving others.
Whats everyone elses thoughts?

| I prefer jewelcases, if only because digi's can get easily damaged if you carry them around (as I am known to do ... I always have at least a dozen CDs in my knapsack that I bring to and from work)... if you break a jewelcase, you can always replace it with another one, but if you mess up a digi, you're pretty well screwed. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I hate Digi Packs mainly because of the storage factor, they just don't sit on the shelves correctly and look untidy compared to Jewel Cases. What I do dislike about the Jewel Cases is the way the booklet can be too fat soometimes for the front cases and can damage the booklet and also on alot of the Jewel Cases there is two little lumps that catch the Booklet when you go to slide it out. . |

| Jewel case preferably, but I have a bunch of digi's as well. They always seem to get the bonus tracks.

| The digis are more attractive to me, but degrade to quickly as they are exposed to wear and tear. I don't carry mine around as much (like FF) - I only tote my jewel cased cds around... | |

| Digi's look cooler but don't hold up very well. They seem to get wear from just sitting on the shelf and from opening them just occasionally. So I have to go with jewel cases. |

| Not really an issue, any new CDs I get are ripped and transfered to the iPod straightaway, and the CD's are filed away in a cabinet. No room on the iPod, well then the files are popped onto a CDR for later use. |

nice I actually do the same thing. Hopefully I get my 160gb iPod for xmas ( I know I am but my gf just wont admit she got it for me) then most of my collection will fit on there. I'll just have to do without all the live and best of cds I got which isnt a big deal. It was a pain converting all my cds to mp3s for my ipod but it was worth it in the end.

Yeah there's something about being able to walk around with your entire CD right there in your pocket, can't quite put my finger on it... btw 160gigs! drool.... |

| I dont mind either. When i get digis I put them in a protective sleeve designed for digis and the sleeve for the most part protects them from the enemy - spills. I think some of the packaging for digis is far superior to jewel - the new symphony x comes to mind.

| I'd rather have jewelcases, mainly because of the reasons stated about the digi's, scuffing/damaged easily, and that damn glue (although, that seems to have gotten better in recent years) however, if I want the album, I'm not too picky. Although, if the jewel case version has the same artwork and tracks, I WILL search it out. | |

| Digi-paks are worthless...id take jewel cases anyday of the week.Alot of times labels will issue a jewel case and a digi (they like to call it a "limited edition" release or whatever with maybe a tad different packagaing or a couple more tunes) its just a way to screw the buyer (fan) out of more $. |

| I like and dislike the both equally. Digipacks show wear and tear more quickly, but they're arguably more sturdy. If you drop a digipack you may bend a corner or it might rip a bit. If you drop a jewelcase the thing explodes. Of course, you can replace jewelcases and not digipacks. So they both basically suck. If I had to choose I'd say I like jewelcases better, but I keep my collection in good shape, so it's generally not and issue. |

QFT. Digipaks look much nicer, but if you don't take excellent care of your collection than they're probably not a good idea. My best looking digipaks
