Limb music always delivers the goods as far as my tastes are concerned. Earlier this year I got Rising Faith-The Arrival used and it has quickly become one of my favorite raw power/speed albums. And while Emerald Sun are pretty good and I like this album, it is just not as good as advertised. The sticker says:
The powerful, melodic Speed Metal songs of HELLOWEENs "Keepers-era". With their very own instinct for enthralling passages, toughened in the fire of countless, sweaty live shows, the band sends the listener on a trip from one climax to another and will thus enthuse every fan of old Helloween, Stratovarius, and Rhapsody totally.
This is NOTHING even close to Keeper era Helloween, it is keyboard enfused power metal that brings to mind early Stratovarius (though not as good), Mob Rules, and others. The music is well writen and played and the vocalist is not bad at all. While not breaking any new ground they know what they like and do it well, they just aren't as good as the sticker would lead you to believe. It is also as close to Rhapsody as it is to Helloween. The only thing it has in common with Rhapsody is a little orchestration but nothing to compare to the composing of Turili and Starpoli (two of the best composers in symphonic metal ever, IMO).
