Finished it. Fun stuff. Really easy to digest, nothing new but done in an energetic and punchy manner. The [awful] ballad practically derails the album lol, but it finds it feat fast. The vocals are rough yet charming.
Someone guested on track 6, sounds like Todd la Torre? Who are these guys anyway and where did they come from?
And so cool a Talk Box solo!

I just happened to notice this vid when looking up another Emerald band from Cali that was around in the 80's.

Damn, looks like Emerald as a band name is quite overused. There's even a nu-metal outfit and a...techno-gothic-metal-thingy? with the same name.

Shay, I think the dudes I posted are listed as Christian Metal on most sites. Good album, super hard to find and expensive though.

I was in the band twice. 1980-1983 and 1988-1989

The Emerald from California was formed in 1978, if memory serves me correct?

The 1986 Emerald is WAY better - than the other Emerald. It much more cutting edge sharp - in every angle - Including the drums - the vocals - the guitar work - the production the lyrics - the bass sound - the album art work - Then - well - the other Emerald 33 years later .

Nope, Roger joined after my first go around. Todd Norrris was drumming with them then. I went and played with Shellshock while Mike Andrade was hurt. That didn't last and I played with Arcane, Graceful Lu, and then got studio gigs at Total Access and later Pakaderm

Oh, man. I wish I was there. I would have snapped it up. Depending on the price tag of course.

Was selling for around 14 euros. Stupid of me not to pick it up. I will eventually order it from Amazon.

I dig the 80s Emerald. A label put out an Oracle (my old band) and Emerald (Armed For Battle) CD.
The Emerald posted in the first post is pretty badass too...
