Power Metal is a lot like the band Danger Danger
This is a joke post, right?
I have to agree w/ Eyesore (though not as harshly). "Power Metal" is much heavier/more metal and to me than any hard rock band and sounds like JUDAS PRIEST/OZZY with touches of speed metal here and there, such as the title track.
I was harsh? I was seriously asking that question. Danger Danger is nowhere even close to the style on Power Metal. I didn't want to reply seriously if he was just being silly.

"We'll Meet Again" reminds me a bit of something OZZY might've done in the mid-80s.
Priest if they had Geoff Tate on vocals!

Why are you shocked? He sounds more like Tate than Halford. His tone is way closer to Tate's.

I have a compilation cd of Power Metal and some of the earlier stuff and i have listened to it many, many times so i know what i'm saying. Halford has a destinctive high pitched voice and Tate has a combo lower/high voice which is why Anselmo fit in with Tate's style nicely. The Terry Glaze guy had the more glam Joe Elliot meets David Lee Roth type voice.

On Power Metal, his high notes remind me of Obsession-era Vescara.
Whatcha think about them apples?

Nothing like Tate. Far more like Halford.

Phil admitted in early videos and interviews that PRIEST/Halford/"Unleashed in the East" was a huge influence on him.
I've never heard him say a word about QUEENSRYCHE.

Thanks for the info, guys, I've got Power Metal (which I had heard of before) on the way. I'll dabble into the others later.

On the way? What are we talking here? Bootleg? Real thing? I'd like it on CD, a real version, not a bootleg.

Maybe he was influenced by both because i hear a definate Tate similarity in the higher vibrato notes. It also depends on the song too.

Sorry. To these ears Phil has never ever sounded like Geoff Tate.
And, dude, why not fix what you pasted?

A few weeks ago I snagged a copy of Power Metal on CD, via the Amazon Marketplace, and just this week I got the CD version of I Am The Night which I purchased on eBay delivered.
