When I tried to sell my copy of that CD to a used store some years ago, the guy behind the counter actually laughed at me. True story.
Usually they give you .25 (in trade) for it , if the case is good that is
I didn't even get that much. They must've had a whole box full of 'em in the back room already. (Same thing happened when I tried to trade in ST. ANGER a few years ago).

Man, that song is excellent! I know a lot of you dislike them, but if you're a fan, the new song should please you.
Can't wait for this album!

I don't know, the chorus is kinda annoying.
I don't know if i'll get this, i only like III Sides from them. Call me a fan of the album more then the band!

That album is a classic! My favorite by them. They definitely sounded different on each album, which is probably why they never found a true fan base. It takes a lot for fans to stick around a band that released four distinctly different albums. But III Sides is awesome. Definitely an underrated classic.
And I loved that new tune. Tell me these guys don't love Queen. Haah.

I agree with RP about the new track - great guitar work, but that chorus is VERY irritating!

Who bought it? I stopped by Walmart (thinking I could knock out a few groceries AND the CD at once) but they didn't have it. So off to Best Buy I went.
I never liked "Star", but the 2nd song "Comfortably Dumb" is pretty good.

Hmmm...I didn't like III Sides but love Pornograffitti.
That last song sounds more like the latter and less like the former IMO.

Okay, I've listened the whole album twice already. I love it.
I really don't have any complaints about the songs other than "Star", which I think is very bland and poor choice of single & album opener, but here are my faves: "Comfortably Dumb", "King of the Ladies" (very cool modern song that could probably be a hit on rock radio if it wasn't by "an 80s band"), "Ghost" (another theoretical hit), "Slide", "Interface"

Well, I listened to it a couple times today. I really dig it. Once again, it's a different kind of album. Sure, it's been like 12 years, but even back then Extreme never replicated the same sound twice. They still sound like Extreme, though. Nuno is still an amazing guitarist, and Gary's voice is still awesome.
Songs that immediately stood out were "Star," "Comfortably Dumb," "Take Us Alive" (believe it or not), "Run," "Last Hour," "Ghost," and "Peace (Saudade)."
"Ghost" and "Peace" are very much like III Sides To Every Story songs. Very good tunes, though mellow. "Take Us Alive" surprised me. What's that, bluegrass? I didn't expect that at all, but it's a great tune! I think "Run" is my favorite so far. Least favorite would be "Flower Man." It's sound a bit too The Hives in the verses for my tastes, though it's not a bad tune.
Overall, I think it's a great "comeback" album. It's unfortunate the band sort of fell apart after III Sides, because they're capable of being brilliant. It makes me wonder what things would have been like had the members not had issues after III Sides. I personally think these guys are capable of being a modern day Queen. Whether they carry on as a band in any capacity is yet to be seen, but I'd love for it to happen.
Lofty praise, I know, but I think the combination of Bettencourt/Cherone is right up there with the greats. Extreme just never fully realized their sound before imploding.

Oh hush, I didn't see the thread.
The more I'm listening to this album, the more I'm loving it. Definitely one of my faves of the year. Even my fiancee loves "King of the Ladies".

It's a great album. I'm also really diggin it. I hope they carry on. The album has a lot of stylistic shifts, which would generally be bad for an album (see the last Skid Row album for example), but they make it work here. If they carry on and do more albums, something more stylistically cohesive would be even better.
I'd like something epic. Take III Sides To Every Story and just blow it out of proportion. I think they could make something like that awesome!
