New Extreme Album... Possibly

This was posted on Nuno Bettencourt's Facebook page this morning.

Hi Everyone… I know it’s been a while since we have given any updates… I have been touring non-stop for the last few years and finally have some time off! But I wanted to fill you in on everything Extreme. We had a great time performing Pornograffitti in Japan. The shows were very special. It felt good to play some of the deep cuts. We also had a chance to play some new markets this summer such as Russia and China. We didn’t know what to expect but the fans were incredible! Don’t worry Brazil… we did not forget about you…. we are still planning on coming there soon and are just working out the details with the promoter. Lastly, I have been working on a lot of new material for Extreme and we are looking at our schedules now, so hopefully we can start working on the new Extreme record before the end of the year. We will fill you in as things progress. Until than…

Sounds good to me. I thought Saudades was a bit of a mixed bag at points, but it made perfect sense as a comeback album. Will be good to hear were they go to next.

Hopefully they'll also come back to the UK, because I've still yet to see them live!

I have not heard that album. Is it better than Stryper's comeback album "Reborn" because that was not a great album.

I would think they will do what they've always done...write whatever they want.

Exactly. And it's by far the best thing they can do.

I'm looking forward to a new Hurtsmile album as well. I love the debut!

I've never seen Extreme, i like them a lot, when my Girlfriend went on her Audio Engineer School, one of Extreme's Songs was presented as a good example of engineering, compared to the loudness war that came afterwards

I wouldn't quite go that far. When it comes to music, Japan just tend to embrace anything Western with an almost cult following. It's not really the majority though - there is plenty of awful, awful Japanese music that would make you question the general populace's tastes.
