Best Metal band that have never have smurfed up!!

Its clearly Overkill they have never ever have releaesed a bad album every album they have done is either a 4 or 5 star metal album even I hear black is extremely good I dont understand why overkill fans yes they did slow but in a good way and that album is heavily underrated. MetallicA should of gone the same road as Overkill in the mid 90's not the wanky pop alternative route.

if you are asking for opinions.. there are many others i would include.

Motorhead & Slayer would be included in my list. two bands that can do no wrong in my book.

Black Sabbath? I'm as big a Sabbath fan as you'll find, but not all their releases are stellar, a few are mediocre at best.

The last album by Led Zeppelin wasn't that good not that bad but 1 thing I hate about that album is Jimmy Page has alot of Country and Western influence which in my opinion ruins the album.

If your speaking of "In Through the Outdoor", I think it's great!

In Through the Outdoor is a fantastic album, a mellower album but a nice album to finish the amazing Zep catalogue. Touches on so many different genre's, including what i would consider AOR.

Thats what kept them off my list. I thought blaze did a nice try but could never really pull it off... I know though my opinion of blaze is clouded by bruce's stuff though.

Yeah, the Blaze era was lack luster. However, it was still metal and as far as I'm concerned, that means they didn't smurf up. I'm sorry no band as far as I can tell hits a home run everytime, after all no one is perfect. To say someone smurfs up should pertain to them changing their sound to please the mainstream (Rob Halford-Two, Metallica-Load and beyond, Savatage-Fight For The Rock, etc.), IMO. As long as a band sticks to their guns and don't compromise for anyone (i.e. staying true to yourself) then they are o.k. in my book.
