- Slash has said many times that he wanted GnR to be the next Rolling Stones, just playing good old fashioned rock n roll. Axl was the one that wanted them to be the next Nine Inch Nails. Most of the tunes Slash wrote for the follow-up to Use Your Illusions ended up being used for his Snakepit albums.
I remember reading that. Did ya peeps know that Slash is working on a solo album? He plans to bring in a diff singer for each song

The single / title track, 'Chinese Democracy' has been released in its entirety for streaming. If any of you are big GN'R fans, you'll probably have heard this song a bunch of times before (I've been listening to various recordings of it since about 2003, I think), but it's nice to finally hear a fully produced and polished version of it. Axl's voice is probably the weakest thing about it. I think the song itself is great and the instrumentation is fantastic. Radical departure from GN'R of old though, which we all knew. _________________

I remember reading that. Did ya peeps know that Slash is working on a solo album? He plans to bring in a diff singer for each song He put out an instumental acoutic song that I think was on some compilation jazz album that gets played on the jazz station on sattelitte radio. It's really cool. I'd love to hear an album of that, but I'm sure it will be a more rockin' solo album. As for the new GnR song, it's ok, but sounds too "electronic". But what can you expect from a song that been tinkered with in a studio on Protools for the last 13 years. I don't think there will be any natural/organic sounding instrumentation on this one.

| How can you sound hungry and sleazy when you just spent 13 million dollars putting out an album? I think when this album tanks, it will be a just reward for Mr. Rose. |

The intro seems longer than the actual song. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Thing is spec, this album won't tank. I am sure it will sell ridiculous amounts due to the years of speculation it has induced, as well as it having the Guns N' Roses label on it. It'll pale in comparison to Appetite and the Use Your Illusions, but I still think it'll be an enjoyable CD. Probably have nothing on Snakepit's Ain't Life Grand though. _________________ | |

Geffen records has it listed now too. This just might be the real deal this time, folks. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

Judging by the success AC/DC is having with Walmart, scoring an exclusive deal with Best Buy may be the way to go. Although I still think more people are gonna purchase Black Ice almost as an afterthought while shopping, whereas you're pretty much making a special trip to Best Buy and not likely to browse around as much. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | These exclusive deals that the Eagles, AC/DC, Guns N Roses, and Journey made, does it expire after a certain amount of time? Like a year from now would be able to purchase this albums anywhere?

| These guys were horrible when they started and will always be horrible. The singing has always sounded like his nose is plugged and he's whining. I got into so many fights over this band and my hatred for them back when their 1st album came out. Maybe I can continue that tradition. | |

| Guys, I am quite excited now. It looks like it's finally happening - the release of the album the pereptual 13 year old inside of me has wanted for yeeeeeears.
If they tour (which they probably will), I am totally there. They were good at Download 2006 (though Axl live is a bit hit and miss, Rob Finck and Bumblefoot more than made up for it) and I'm sure they'll be good again. _________________
