Guns n Roses Chinese Democracy

I liked 'Chinese Democracy' I thought it was an excellent album, was it worth all the hype and the wait, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll no, but an excellent album in my very humble opinion.

Dang!! I knew I should have waited!! I hate paying full price!!

This is probably just one more step in liquidating their supply. I was in Best Buy the other night for the first time in God knows how long looking for the new Motorhead (no luck) and their cd section was smaller than ever. And most of those were crappy "best ofs" and comps. I believe they are getting out of the compact disc market altogether.

Over the weekend, my friend posted a pic on his Facebook page of a whole heap of Chinese Democracy CDs on a shelf at his local "Dollar Tree" dollar store. I had to laugh. Very Happy

...I also told him if he's in that store again anytime soon, to grab me one. I'll gladly give it a spin for a buck. Besides, I haven't bought ANY CDs thus far this year and I'm starting to get the shakes really bad. I'm jonesin'!

Eh, you might do better taking a buck outta your wallet and setting it on fire for some fleeting warmth.

Don't get me wrong. I still like the album (fan-boy to the end), but it's soooooooo far removed from what Guns n' Roses is (or was) that it might be hard to listen objectivly. Although you could probably use it for the basis of another Hub post, "Welcome to the Dollar Tree, We've Got Gum and Games". You seem to like torturing yourself for your craft. Haha, that's not a bad idea. But seriously, there's such a divide of opinions on this album that I've always been curious about checking it out... just not at full price. So a dollar sounds like just the right price for me to give it a shot. Very Happy

It was worth the $15 I paid for it, it's definitely worth a dollar. This does not sound like GNR but it is still a great album and one of my favorite albums from the last decade. Of course I'd rather see the old Guns in the band but I love Chinese Democracy and the direction Axl took the band in and I hope we don't have to wait as long for a new GNR album.
