New Robbie Krieger book

If you’re a DOORS fan….
You’ll definitely get a kick out of
Robbies laid back approach / account of things.
He did use heroin with his wife daily after the Doors.
Robbie’s wife was Jim’s ex girlfriend.
Pam walked in and that was that.
And he spoke about borrowing riffs
And the true influence of Light My Fire.

Robbie heard this guy’s version
And the band agreed.
It was cooler than the actual original.

Robbie said he listened to this song 100 times in a row.
Maybe on acid. Then he picked up his guitar….
And noodled around - and wrote the song and lyrics.
Morrison came up with “ try to set the night on fire “ -
Robbie agreed.
Morrison also suggested “ our love becomes a funeral pyre “.

I always thought this was such an odd song by the Doors. But hell, The original is insane. Crazy stuff.

If Hendrix did the song. Or SRV.
Either way…it’s another cover of it.
Who knows who did the original…maybe Robert Johnson
