| His solo album in the 80's, while influenced by U2 and the Bodeans had some great songs. Hell's Half Acre and American Roulette are some snappy songwriting along with the hits off that album. Didn't really follow him but picked up, How To Become Clairvoyant, where he taps his inner Dylan at times which of course brings him back to the Band sound. With a twist of course. Can't bang my head all the time. | |

| Robbie is a talented player and song writer but IMHO falls flat on his face without The Band. The only member of The Band who has actually put out something good outside of The Band is Levon Helm. Of course this is just my old fart opinion. _________________ | |

| It actually held up pretty well imho. Levon is a decent listen but not really my thing. | |

I like the concept of what he's doing, getting a bunch of people together and jamming _________________ | |

| I was never able to get into The Band. They were good, it just doesn't trip my trigger.

| In the right mood I enjoy The Band. Unlike just about every fan of them, Islands is my favorite. Robertson's self titled solo record is such a forgotten classic from the 80's. A really great record. Never could get into the other stuff that followed though. | |

| Love The Band. I'm most familiar with the first four or five albums, and of course, The Last Waltz film. Their 'melting pot' approach to their albums meant that there was always interesting stuff going on. | |
