I hope they bring Ace back in to talk. That should be fun!

I'm not normally a fan of these types of movies, but since it's KISS, I'll be watching it. And I hope they do include all former members. It would be nice to have both sides of the story, not just Paul and Gene's versions.

Paul Stanley will be portrayed like in The Decline of Western Civilization (the Metal years).
Gene will have his tongue wagging and his “photo” collection.
Ace will be drunk and driving the wrong way on the streets.
Peter will be in the background moaning about his lack of vocals.
I just wonder how far back the story will go? Will it include Paul’s struggles as a youth with his ear deformity and insecurities? Will Gene be seen as a (pre-fame) immigrant?

Is it a documentary or with actors?

This sounds like it will be a scripted film w/actors, tho there's supposedly an "in depth documentary" on them in the works as well. Of course, they've been talking about that doc for years and nothing ever seems to come of it, so I've stopped holding my breath waiting.

While we wait for the Netflix movie, a two part, four hour Kiss documentary, "Biography: KISStory" will air on the A&E Network on June 27th and 28th.
“Through the Biography lens we are able to give fans a backstage pass to a two-night event that honors the legacy of the rock icons behind Kiss,” said A&E’s Head of Programming, Elaine Frontain Bryant, in a statement. “This documentary event is a special tribute to a one-of-a-kind band and the incredible Kiss Army fanbase that has idolized them for generations.”

My concern is that this biopic will misrepresent Ace and Peter with extreme bias.

It will be a fabricated half truth. Just like most other documentaries or biopics.
Mr. Eisen and Mr. Witz just can’t help throwing their gentile former bandmates under the bus...

Hell yeah i've been wanting something like this about KISS for a while now, i've read almost every KISS book under the sun and there's a ton of stuff that would make for great entertainment and drama.

Hell yes, after watching VH1's Behind the Makeup I was aching for another documentary on KISS.

Watching the first part of A&E's Kisstory doc right now... as I somewhat expected, they haven't brought up anything that I didnt already know, but i could listen to Gene & Paul tell stories about the early days forever.

Part one of the Kisstory doc was entertaining -- though most of it was old news if you've ever seen their "X-Treme Close Up" VHS or VH1's "Behind the Makeup" doc from the early '00s.
The one bit that was new to me was Gene's suspicion that Neil Bogart (Casablanca Records honcho) had borrowed money from the Mob to keep the label afloat till Kiss took off.
So part one ends with the split of the original lineup, so we're up to about 1980. Should be interesting to see how Part 2 will sum up an additional 40 years in just two hours

Part 2 of the A&E doc was pretty much what I expected - Vinnie Vincent's a douche, we love and miss Eric Carr, the Reunion was fun while it lasted until Ace and Peter were back to their same ol' shit, blah blah blah.
However, there was an unexpected added bonus, I'm actually IN part 2 for a split second -- when they were talking about the mid '90s Kiss Conventions, Gene said "the fans were lined up around the block..." and they cut to a shot of people waiting outside to get into a convention...and bang, there I was. I was so shocked I damn near spit out my mouthful of beer.
The film clip in question came from a documentary about Kiss fandom called "Kiss Loves You," and it was shot outside the NJ Kiss Expo in 1995. I own that doc on DVD, but it was a pleasant surprise to see that clip turn up in the show last night!
