I love early Crue. The first two albums are classics.
Scary indeed. It seems like yesterday when their Decade of Decadence album celebrated the first 10 years!

Said it before. Will say it again. They opened for Ozzy. Bark Moon tour. I never saw young musicians so bad ass and rowdy. They seemed dangerous. Actual law breakers. And had looks that killed - in leather. And my age ! Best performance I ever saw.

I am a big fan of everything up through and including Dr. Feelgood. After that I felt like they fell off a cliff.

I never liked them. But they did kickstart a genre/scene that I do like. Pun intended.

If the band is 40, I guess that means the members are in their 60’s.
And Mick Mars is 10 years older than that. 70 something...

I remember 1981. My friend hung out on the Sunset Strip. He told me about this new band he thought was great. He shared their demo. Because of their imagery and lyrical themes, I wanted to hate them. And I did for the first few listens but the music was so infectious. Little did I know that I would be at their breakthrough performance in 1983 at The US Festival.
