Yep! That's it! I can still hear the awful theme music, "It's Cagney....(female backing vocals)... and Stacy". Through half of the movie the blonde is putting her hand between her breasts to try to cover some zits there. Don't stop filming until they go away or anything, just keep to the original shooting schedule.

Hahaha! Honestly I don't remember much about this movie aside from the box cover, and the fact that I rented it from my corner mom-n-pop convenience store (which, like many other delis/convenience stores, briefly jumped on the video-rental bandwagon in the early 80s), even tho I was several years away from being legally allowed to rent such material at the time. (According to IMDb, "Cagney & Stacey" came out in 1984, so even if I saw it a year or two later I would've still only been 15 or 16 at the time).
I DO remember standing on line for the check out with that box cover in my hand, sweatin' bullets and thinking that the guy behind the counter was gonna call me out on my bullshit, but nope, he just took my money, handed me the tape, and I ran home to watch it before my parents got home from work.
Ahh, youth.

I never even saw the movie cover; I just recognize those two chicks with the 80s hair.
I'll never forget getting ready to watch some cheapass horror move like "Chud" or something, plugging in the rented VCR and when I went to try to insert my horror movie discovering there was already a tape in there. So I figured what the hell and hit "play". Imagine my surprise when it started playing a love scene between two women. I went "What horror movie?" and promptly rewound the tape.

Hahaha, kids today dont' know how easy they have it with 24-7 porn available on the Internet. Back in the day, we had to resort to subterfuge if we wanted to see such things!

The Dead Pit (1989)
A renegade doctor is shot dead and entombed with his fiendish experiments in the basement of an abandoned wing of a mental hospital. Twenty years later, a mysterious woman is admitted with amnesia, and her arrival is marked by an earthquake - which cracks the seal to the Dead Pit, freeing the evil doctor to continue his work.

This one has been on my watch list forever but I have never gotten around to it. Was it any good?
The VHS box for this movie had a cool gimmick - it had a button on it that made the zombie's eyes light up when you pushed it. I would mess with it every time I saw one in a video store.

It's a typical 80s horror movie. Not a total waste of time and the chick in it is ultra hot. I watched in on Amazon Prime.

I remember that video package. I used to do the same thing every time I saw it in the store. I think I finally rented it and found it boring but I don't really remember it at all.

"Superman: Red Son" (2020)
This animated "Elseworlds" tale from the DC Universe asks, "what if the rocket carrying baby Kal-El had landed in the Soviet Union instead of the USA?" Superman grows up to symbolize Russian might and eventually becomes the Soviet Premier at the height of the Cold War, where he clashes with Lex Luthor (who's President of the US in this story), romances Wonder Woman, and battles a Russian Batman and the all-American Green Lantern Corps. The last twenty minutes of "Red Son" falls into the typical super-hero blasting and zapping, but the first hour is a very cool ride through an "alternate" DC Universe. Neat stuff.

"Hard Target" (1993)
A New Orleans drifter (Jean-Claude van Damme) offers to help a woman find her missing father, and ends up caught in a battle with a gang of killers who hunt humans for sport, led by a hilariously evil Lance Henriksen. This was Hong Kong action director John Woo's first Hollywood film and his trademark stylishly filmed, lovingly captured slow-motion ultra-violence elevates the thin premise, which was obviously inspired by the classic story "The Most Dangerous Game." JCVD and Woo have both done better, but "Hard Target" was entertaining enough to provide some rainy afternoon mayhem.

Frontier(s)(2007)-during a riot in Paris, a gang of young criminals pull of a robbery and go to a hostel in the French countryside to hide out. The hostel, it turns out, is ran by a family of neo Nazis who are also cannibals as well. After slaughtering most of the gang, they intend to use the one surviving girls to breed a new master race. Yet another entry in the "torture porn" genre, a genre I've never been the biggest fan of as these types of movies seem to be just too similar and prefer to dump tons of gore without much thought into a solid story. Yes, the movie is ultra violent and is technically well made, I've just seen my fair share of these types of movies before. Worth one watch and I've certainly have seen worse. 2/5

Finished up MASH on MeTV. I had never seen a complete episode until last year. Now I understand why it's such a great show! Also finished up Dragnet but with only about 4 seasons it is easy to fly thru when they show 2 episodes a day. So I started recording Adam-12 this week because it's on in the afternoons.

"Bettie Page Reveals All" (2013)
The life and enduring impact of the Fifties pin-up icon is examined with lots of vintage saucy pics and film clips, interviews with famous friends and fans (Hugh Hefner, Dita von Teese, comic artist Dave Stevens, etc.) and voice recordings of the reclusive Bettie herself, who passed away in 2008. A fun, breezy documentary about a legendary figure (pun intended) whose cult following has only grown larger as the years have passed.

"Justice League vs. the Fatal Five" (2019)
After kicking the Legion of Super Heroes' collective asses in the 31st century, a gang of future super villains time travel back to the present day and try to do the same to the Justice League. However, the veteran heroes like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman turn out to be a little tougher than these high-tech crooks expect. A watchable, but unspectacular, entry in the DC Animated Universe series.

That was my reaction to this one too. I've seen worse in the genre but this was basically one big yawn for me.
And I'd still love to know the reason for the parentheses around the "S" in "Frontier(s)"

"The Death of Superman" (2018)
The super-powered alien death machine known as Doomsday has landed on Earth, and the only one who can stop him from killing everything in sight is The Big Red S - or can he? A mostly faithful animated adaptation of the famed 1992 "Death of Superman" comic story line (with some tweaks to fit it into current DC Comics continuity), action packed with lots of cartoon mayhem and a legitimately tear jerking ending. Watch this one instead of DC's previous attempt at animating this story, "Superman: Doomsday," from 2007.
"Belushi" (2020)
The tragically short life and career of John Belushi is examined in this Showtime documentary that makes excellent use of rarely-seen archive photos and vintage video clips as well extensive interviews with those who knew him best, like Dan Aykroyd, Carrie Fisher, Harold Ramis, and more. Lots of good (and some very sad) stories are told and it left me wanting to revisit "Animal House" and "The Blues Brothers."
