RIP Dawn Wells Dawn-wells-gilligans-island

Dawn Wells, who played the loveable castaway Mary Ann Summers on "Gilligan's Island," died in Los Angeles on Wednesday from Covid-19 complications, her publicist Harlan Boll confirmed.
She was 82.

I was thinking the same thing.  The only one I don't recall passing away is Ginger.

The same thing is starting to happen to MASH.  Wayne Rogers, Larry Linville, Mclean Stevenson, Harry Morgan, William Christopher are all gone. The original Star Trek is another one. I think Shatner, Takei and Nichols might be the only survivors of the crew's main cast.

That always seems to be the consensus when that topic comes up.  I don't know if I've ever heard anyone say "Ginger".  Ginger just tried too hard; Mary Ann had that "girl next door" quality. I know that's just the way their characters were written but I'm convinced that's one of the main reasons.
