Ya know back when a thread got locked and it was locked. You didn't have a Moderator or Administrator running their mouth after it was decided the discussion was over, regardless of what they posted.
You guys have your own private place for that stuff. If it is decided unilaterally that "nobody" else gets a say, it should remain that way.

I thought the little jab by eyesore after the thread was locked was lame... but what are you gonna do? Especially after he recently revealed how he wanted to quit the forum when he read the shit talk (with his administrative access).
Just like politics. Censored and shit outta luck.

It's funny how much fighting and arguing goes on here. This forum isn't really that active to see this much fighting. I actually wish they would make a rule of no politics allowed. We, or at least I come here for music discussion, not politics. If people wanna argue about that shit, they should go somewhere else to do it and just have fun here. Relax people, you ain't gonna change the world here, so might as well talk about something we all love.....MUSIC!

A person makes a choice to read a thread, or not? A person makes a choice to respond/reply, or not? A person in charge made a choice for everyone else to adhere to, another person in charge made a choice to disregard. Why bother locking it?
As for just talking about music, why even have the general forums then?
I like to debate stuff, share info, and really get into researching a topic. My goal is to get folks to do so their own research and not just parrot what they are told and be able to answer why they think this or that, and not just get p'd off when questioned about anything.

Say what you want, rationalize it an way you want, but you know as well as anyone that political discussion always turns south and leads to fights. I never said JUST talk about music. I said there should be rules to keep politics outta here. How many members you want to lose? This site is already slow for activity, we've lost at least two or three that I know if directly because of politics. Why do you feel it so necessary to "debate stuff" here when more often than not it's going to get heated? Seems pretty selfish to me.

So it is selfish to want to debate/discuss anything on a forum board
politics is not the only thing on the planet to have a debate/discussion about?
Like I said, a person has choice to read and then type, pretty simple concept. Just like they have a choice to stick around or split. Not my choice, let people be accountable for their own decisions.
This thread wasn't even about politics and who brought politics into it?
BTW, I'd have no problem with a no politics rule.
Like already mentioned, my problem was with a locked thread being locked! Nothing more...nothing less

Pigheaded more than selfish methinks.
Anywho, I'm done responding to you here. I've said what I wanted, and stand by it. Have fun...

A bit hypocritical... were you not one of us that was arguing with Mglaffas81 not too long ago? I don’t want to fight anyone, but if someone wishes for me to “perish”, I’m not gonna brush it off. Sax is the one that kicked sand in our face. He gets away with too much! It was all dying down before he popped back in to insult us. Like I said, I’m fine with moving on... I don’t care. Ban the political discussion!

I agree with FF's decision, I am friends with Sax, but no need to wish death upon anybody, that was out of hand.
I do not agree with James or TZ political viewpoints, I cannot think of a single thing we agree on when it comes to politics and I chose not to respond to that particular political thread about fairness, I read it, found it interesting to a certain respect.
James is right, you can chose to read it, to respond or ignore it, as long as it remains civil, bring up whatever you topic you wish to discuss or debate.

The world would be boring if we all thought the same way.
I never have a problem when a thread gets locked, not my decision. A decision that should be respected by all here, regardless of what color your username is displayed in.

Yes I posted a few times here and there, but mostly kept out of it. I don't remember exactly which thread, but I know I kept it to a minimum because politics always leads to fighting. Hell, my cousin that's more of a sister to me was ready to disown me because I voted for trump. It's actually funny to me how pissed off people get. Not a damn thing will ever be solved on a forum like this, so why get all worked up over it?

I agree with Wrecked Neck that political threads never end well. It use to never get brought up here and things were way better because of it. I try to stay out of it because no amount of debating and arguing is gonna change the other persons beliefs. We’re all different and that’s a good thing but you have that one person who has become a warrior for getting a shot in and getting butt hurt when put to the fire. I don’t really understand what’s going on with them, alcohol maybe? Lol!

As Manny said - its fine to have different viewpoints about pretty anything but keep it respectful and civil.
There are a lot more important things to get worked up about than what a person (whom you most likely have never met) thinks on a particular subject.

alot of us have already made up our minds about what we think, don't want to debate but instead put our view out there for anyone to take or leave and just move on.. I know that rubs you the wrong way but whatever... I never really wanted to debate you and I was able to tell you why I believe what I do and truthfully our conversations were a waste of time as they didn't change anyone's view on anything.....And some of peoples beliefs are really just not explainable...there doesn't have to be an answer or deep intellectual why on every thought. Our brains are all wired different and maybe that's why people think and reason certain ways...

My political beliefs are very strong and I don't have the best of tempers which can get me into some trouble. The current political climate as made it much worse and my temper (which is already too short as it is) is easily lost. Which is why I stay FAAAAAR away from such issues. Especially since many in my family are on the other side.
That being said, if others want to argue politics and can do respectfully than best of luck to them, I will never stand in their way. My mom and sister do it all the time (my mom is on my side of the fence) but they can do it without getting hot under the collar. Since I can't and don't like conflict I stay away from it and if family gets into politics while I'm around, I will either step out or ask politely that we change the subject. I think that's how it should be. If you can, do. If not, don't. I'm glad political debate is allowed, nothing should be off limits around here (to an extent of course).
Now while I don't think political stuff should be off limits. Perhaps if a thread is going to go there, maybe a disclaimer? That way if those with the temperament for debate can jump into the thread and others like me that wish to stay away can. Just a thought.
