I used to have a 79 Gibson sunburst guitar. Marshall stack. Then had a white Gibson gold top. Retired. Now 15 years later....walked into a music store.... Going to get a lighter guitar....Fender like...... Not sure which brand though....1500.00.....Range.... I’m definitely buying a BOSS Amp. Spectacular. This BOSS amp has it all....for just 400 or so.... With the invention of youtube....and teaching videos..... I feel I can play Rain Song....Don't Fear Reaper....etc... I’d love to play I’ll See The Light ...and I’m The One....etc... So I’m getting rather excited about this. To tinker about again. The guitar store guy lead me to the best of the best.... I kind of instinctively knew..too..... One things for sure....products now are all top notch. But a lighter guitar with a whammy bar....appeals to me... No longer hesitant.....going to do it.

I bought an acoustic a few months ago. I hadn't played in probably 10 years or so. I have no desire to have a serious run at a music career again, but I have wanted to get back to writing music for fun for a long time now.
But I suck now. Was never a great guitar player to begin with. My skills there kind of plateaued at the punk/hardcore level, but...man, I'm rusty. Especially on an acoustic. I definitely need an electric guitar where sloppy playing is less noticeable. Haha.
Planning to write my wife a country song as our 10-year anniversary, though, so I have a year and a half or so to get my shit together on that acoustic. Not sure I can write a country song, though. We'll see...
That BOSS Katana looks pretty cool, by the way. I checked it out a while back.

Even at your worst, you gotta be better than David Crosby.

G&L’s are heavy duty. Those suckers weigh like a Les Paul, but they sound great.
The most famous person I know that used G&L is Jerry Cantrell. He has the “Rampage”.

Guitar lessons are 35 dollars per half hour. 70 dollars for one hour. Before COVID, the music store had 200 guitar players taking lessons. Times have changed ! Screw that ! Looks like I’m going to have to learn everything from blessed Youtube.

I encourage you to play with other musicians as much as possible. The dynamic of a band like setting gives confidence, structure, and comprehension of many aspects pertaining to music. Such as playing in time, in key, and what can be done inside/outside an arrangement. Have fun!

After noodling around on the guitar.... It has brought such a deeper appreciation of music. Let’s face it. There’s only so many chords and notes. But these top musicians are absolute magicians. It astounds me. Metal musicians are incredibly intense. I just learnt “ People Are Strange “ - even that is super well crafted.
