exactly. Its ok to speak out if it does not impact him financially but as soon as it does, concentration camps really are not all that bad...

THE World Series has had "historically low tv ratings."

it is interesting given all the lockdowns that people have not flocked to sports. I wonder what tv/streaming numbers are in general..

I think the World Series numbers are down for different reasons than the NFL and NBA. 

Baseball is my favorite sport but even I have had a hard time getting into this bastardized season.  Every, and I mean EVERY single record, statistic, award and championship for 2020 will have a HUGE asterisk next to it for an equally HUGE number of reasons.  Plus it doesn't help ratings when one team is Tampa Bay (who have a hard time drawing fans even in their own stadium) and the other is LA who plays a lot of their games way past the bedtimes of the East Coast elitists.  So the major metropolitan areas on the East Coast largely don't give a crap. I don't think the World Series ratings are any reflection of MLB's stance on politics or social issues because MLB in general hasn't really said very much.


I really think it's because of the way MLB screwed around with all the rules and the fact that it was only a 60 game season that people feel pretty "meh" about the World Series.  I'm watching but only sporadically.  Like last night I was flipping between the WS and Smackdown.

I think all the leagues that are down are down for a multitude of reasons.

One big thing is that people realized during the lockdown that they didn't need these overpaid windbag athletes.

World Series TV ratings have been declining steadily for years.

I don't think baseball ever truly recovered from the P.R. disaster of the 1994 strike.

Since then, baseball has fallen way behind the NFL and NASCAR in terms of popularity.

The pandemic/shortened season/etc. that Toho cited only accelerated the ratings slide.
