I think we need a dedicated area to chat sports.
Uncle Sax is right; this place has been on the decline.
Let's get back to good conversations about metal and not endless bickering, of which I can be guilty of.

How is Mike Trout better than ever in year 10?
Toho - You happy with Arenado? He's still not quite rolling.

This is sports related...
Ann Wilson singing the national anthem at the NFL draft.
I’m a fan of her work in Heart, but this was definitely not her best live performance. It sounded a bit rough, and her attempts at letting loose was almost embarrassing.

The National Anthem at the draft? That's odd.

The Albert Pujols era is over. The Angels have released him.
His Cardinals years and first couple Angels years were among the best ever.

I used to love baseball. I haven't gone back since the strike in '94. Sorry, but I am NOT listening to overpaid millionaires whine about not making enough money.
I quit watching the NBA over a decade ago. The game is SOFT. The refs ALLOW travelling for "star" players. I sat and watched Lebron literally take FIVE steps to the basket after he stopped dribbling... The players are overpaid, the league cowtows to China, and the game is just a shadow of its former glory.
I didn't watch a SINGLE NFL game last season. The year before, I watched 2 games. Sorry, but the league is full of THUGS. How many of these morons get arrested every week? How many DON'T we hear about, as they have been given preferential treatment? Players whine about outplaying their contract, but does anyone think they'll give money BACK for UNDERplaying their contract?
Never cared for Hockey, don't give two shits about soccer, I don't watch Rugby League or Rugby Union here, don't give a toss about Aussie Rules, Cricket ain't my bag....
The only sport I ACTUALLY watch these days is MMA. Dana White keeps the political shit OUT of it. As ALL leagues SHOULD. You wanna spew your politics? Cool, do it on your own time. I deal with that shit ENOUGH on the daily. Keep it the fuck OUT of my entertainment.

I like most of the modern Sabremetrics but one thing will never change:
I LOVE RBIs. Love them!

Sports make the socialist propaganda easier to swallow. Small doses mixed into your entertainment.

Yeah, I've been wrestling with that. My interest in the NBA is affected by that.
I want to just enjoy sports.

I still watch the Islanders play almost every game and if Syracuse makes the NCAA tourney, I'll watch them. I'll also go see a minor league hockey game in Pensacola occasionally.
