Unless you have some underlying conditions you and your wife should be fine Lari.
I'm still pretty sure I had it last February before we knew Covid was a thing and I'm a lot older than you and have high BP.
Still... take care of yourselves.

People need to stop saying this. I know you mean well, but I have no underlying conditions, and it almost sent me to the hospital several times. I caught it January 2nd and still have trouble breathing. Chances are he might be fine, but it's a roll of the dice and there is more to it than age, or overall health.

Hope you have a mild case. I can give you a run down on what happened to us. We were fine for six days, then my wife started getting really sick on day seven and went to the hospital. As I said a couple pages back, she didn't survive. After my initial week, I started getting really sick, and should have went to the hospital as well. Only reason I didn't is because I could imagine getting stuck in there and not being able to at least find out how my wife was doing. I planned on dying in my apartment before that happened.
So there are some things you can take while staying in quarantine. We were taking lots of vitamins. Vitamin D3, C, Zinc, and drinking tonic water that has quinine in it. Also drink lots of fluids, just like you would with any other cold or flu. Recently I found a website that has some other stuff you can try.
Please read that page, don't take chances just because you might be young and in great shape. I have talked to a lot of people that have had it or know someone that has had it that are in better shape than me and got sicker than I did. I'm not in perfect shape, but my overall health is really good. Last time I went to the hospital for anything was when I was a child and had my tonsils out. Hope you pull through and have an easy case.

One more thing, then I'll shut up. If you take any of my advice and get some or all of those meds from that article, and say a few days later you start to feel better, and decide to quit taking them? Don't do that. Talk to your doctor obviously, but I'd say take them for at least the whole time you're in quarantine. I only say that because there were times when I was really going thru it, that one day I'd feel almost 100% normal again, only to wake up and feel like I was going to die the next day. That happened several times over the course of the three weeks I was sick.
K, lecture is over...

I was out this morning and noticed about 90% of people in mask and most of the big corporations As well as the school system (including Texas Tech ) and all city offices and parks are still requiring mask in my Texas city...

They are thinking of making masks mandatory in Helsinki, Finland. So far it's been possible to not wear one, depending on your office policy. Like, you don't need one in supermarkets or anything. They recommend you wear one for public transport, but you can go without if you wish. I don't use public transport, but if I did, I'd probably wear one. I'm not against them or anything.
And oh yeah, I didn't die of covid. I got it mild. But I'm still in quarantine. For the third week. I have three kids, and they keep getting tested positive, so it resets the quarantine. It's alright though. I get paid in full. State picks up the tab, as long as I provide documentation for my employer.
Kids have no symptoms. Wife has recovered in full. That's what's important. I realise it could have been much worse.

Oh, and quarantine can be tough with three small kids. There are these food delivery services supermarkets offer, so that's covered. We go out in the backyard and play in the snow, but not anywhere further. But beyond that, there's a lot of hanging out indoors and watching screens. TV, ipad, phones, PC, XBox... I took out my old NES from storage. My 7-year-old has been playing Super Mario Bros 3. But kids really shouldn't be on devices that much. Heck, I probably shouldn't either.
I'm watching a lot of NHL hockey.
I'm thinking of getting WWE Network again. I haven't had it for like a year now. Having no fans made it look silly. As if it wasn't silly enough already.

I finally have an appointment for the first shot of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine tomorrow. Seems like I'm the last one in the area to get it.

I signed my wife and I up for it but I am a few weeks shy of my 50th b-day so I don't yet qualify. Hoping to get the J&J one so I'll be one and done. The criteria was 55 and older but they just changed it to 50 which is odd because there are people younger than me at work who have gotten it. Not sure how they did it other than just showing up but I don't want to wait in line so I'll wait for an appointment.

That's pretty much my story. My wife and daughters have been homebound for a year. The youngest in 5th grade is doing remote school since she has a medical condition. My 19 year old is a sophomore at FSU and all of her classes are online except one and there are only 4 people in the class.
They've been playing a lot of video games on Switch and 3DS and on nice days we go outside or to the park to walk behind our house. Will shoot some hoops in the driveway as well.
I think WWE Network is history. I believe they sold it to Peacock and you have to subscribe to that to get it.

My wife has been vaccinated (J &J) as have my son and daughter-in-law (both got one of the double shots, not sure which one). My daughter works at a school for special needs kids and is scheduled for the J &J vaccine next week. I'm not sure when I'll ever be able to get one. They've lowered it down to my age group but you have to have underlying conditions, which I have none.

Yeah I was glad I am NOT getting that one. I'm not into the whole vaccine conspiracy nonsense but that one is fishy. That Astrozeneca submitted outdated results to the FDA makes me suspicious.

Many European countries were concerned that it caused blood clotting. Being that they are a big pharma company, they probably paid off the FDA. Someone invested a lot of money into it. They aren’t gonna just go away that easily.

I got the Pfizer vaccine this afternoon at a mass vax event organized by the health department of the county I live in. It was held at the Family Arena which typically hosts upper midsized concerts. It was SUPER organized with lots of people to help (including National Guard and firefighters) and an assembly line of registrars and vaccinators that hummed along like a well-oiled machine. They even had people directing parking and exiting. I've seen horror stories of 2-3 hour long wait times at other mass vax events in the area but this was as easy as it gets. Took me less than an hour including the 15 minute drive to the arena and the 15 minute drive back AND the 15 minute time you have to wait after receiving the shot. No waiting in line at all. I was really impressed.

People stand in lines that are as long (or longer) than a line for a new ride at Disneyland.

anyone concerned about the unanswered questions on the vaccine? (how long does the vaccine last, what are the long term side effects, etc)
what do ya'll think about the cdc saying even after your vaccinated you need to wear a mask, social distance, avoid crowds, avoid events like sports games, restaurants, concerts, movie theaters, religious events, etc.... only hang out with family or friends that are vaccinated..

Why get the vaccine if you can’t eventually ditch the mask? You could just keep wearing a mask and social distance. Does anyone even know what is in the vaccine? No one seems to care.
