I like Saint Nick (known as "Sint" in the original Dutch). It's much better with subs.
I used to hate subtitles too but since a lot of my favorite movies (besides kaiju ones) don't have any dubbed versions so I got used to reading and watching at the same time. Now I ALWAYS use the subtitled version even when a dubbed version is available.

"Surviving the Game" (1994)
A homeless man (Ice-T) thinks his ship has come in when he is offered a job as a "wilderness guide" for a party of wealthy big-game hunters (incl. Gary Busey and Rutger Hauer) -- but he soon finds out that he is intended to be their prey. Obviously, he does not go quietly... A cool, mostly-forgotten 90s butt kicker, obviously inspired by the classic short story, "The Most Dangerous Game." Worth a look.

Just finished A New Hope with my kids, their first time seeing the whole movie! My youngest was sort of meh but my oldest (10) went NUTS. He's really looking forward to Empire, hopefully tomorrow. As for me, well, I've been watching it several times a month is seems so nothing new, although the new Disney+ transfer brings out some cool details that I've never noticed before, like the progressive scuffing and wear on 3PO as the film progresses.
Watched the prequels, too, and Rogue One again. Obviously getting amped up for RoS. Those prequels, ironically enough, get better with every viewing. Something about how George Lucas's personality coats those first six movies, while the new Disney releases seem to be missing that.

Holy hell, I remember catching this on HBO back when it came out. A crazy movie that I believe was a critical disaster but kept me hooked. Yes, the other cinematic incarnations of the story have been better to varying degrees, but there was something about Ice T here and his non-acting that made for a better "simple man" role. A fairly strong director behind this one, if I recall correctly. I'd like to catch it again. Good mention.

"Iron Sky: The Coming Race" (2019)
Three decades after Earth was devastated by the war against the Moon Nazis, a small group of survivors find their way to its hollow center, where shape-shifting lizard people and dinosaurs co-exist, in order to steal a power source that can save humanity...or something like that. This sequel to the Finnish cult sci-fi comedy hit may be even crazier than the first movie. It's totally ridiculous from beginning to end but it's mostly a fun ride. ...besides, how can you NOT love a movie where Hitler rides in on a T-Rex and says, "Sieg Heil, motherf***ers?"

I've never heard of this "Iron Sky" of which you speak but the term "Moon Nazis" hooked me. I just checked and I can watch the first one for free with my Prime membership. If I like that one then I'll check out the one you just watched FF. Thanks for the recommendation; I was running out of stuff to watch (although I just ordered the Phantasm complete set so I'll have that too).

I just watched an episode of The Simpsons; the third season's premiere episode, Stark Raving Dad.
This episode will not be airing on TV ever again, and has been deleted from newer editions of the third season DVDs. I own the DVD set with the episode.

I'll be interested to hear what you think when you check it out. It's been a few years since I saw the original "Iron Sky," but I remember it being a mostly-fun watch...the concept is irresistible, of course (Come on, who wouldn't want to see a movie about frickin' Moon Nazis?) but it started losing steam towards the end, if memory serves.
I'm sure that some of its circa-2012 political references and gags will have aged badly (like casting a dead ringer for Sarah Palin as the President of the U.S.) by now too.

I watched another episode of The Simpsons, the third season's final episode, Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?
I always really liked this episode, but it almost never shows up on TV for some reason.

When you've got thirty-plus years of episodes to pick from for re-runs, some good ones sometimes get lost in the shuffle.

Even back in the 1990s, that episode rarely showed up in reruns on TV.

13: Game Of Death
This Thai suspense movie plays like a PG-13 rate version of "Saw". A recently unemployed salesman receives an invitation to compete in a PPV online reality game show where he will win millions if he successfully completes 13 tasks but if he quits, fails or anyone finds out he's a contestant he loses all the money. The first task is to kill a fly but they become increasingly disturbing and violent. It's OK but nothing special IMO.

There's an Americanized remake of that one called "13 Sins." I saw it last year, pretty good flick.

Wow. That looks like a scene for scene remake. Is task #5 eating a most disgusting lunch? That flick sure starts the same with the fly and has the task with the motorcycles that the original has.
The Thai version I watched was unrated and it would probably be an "R" in the US but I called it a PG-13 version of Saw because it's nowhere near as gory as any Saw movie (although it does have some gore). Not coincidentally the Thai version is part of the "Dimension Extreme" series and I see Dimension is involved in the US one too.

I didn't know it was a remake of a foreign movie when I first saw it, I found out about that later when I read up on it on IMDb.
I don't remember a "lunch" challenge in the Americanized version, but it's been a few months since I saw it. I remember one challenge was to bring a dead guy's body out in public (to a coffee shop), then he had to cut up the corpse, and do a couple of other unsavory things.

In the original version, task 5 was to eat sh*t off a plate in a restaurant. Even knowing that's not really what it was it was still totally disgusting to watch.

Finished The Mandalorian. A solid A, like nothing I've ever seen! More than worth the 7 bucks for Disney+.
My love for this beautiful franchise is officially alive again, burning like it's 1992! On to Clone Wars!

Today I started rewatching this series (it's like the late Steve Irwin going back in time and visiting the dinosaurs):
No explanation is given as to how a modern human gets to prehistoric times and has some of his modern machines with him but after a while you just put your mind in neutral and enjoy the concept. It's from the same people who created the Walking With Dinosaurs series so you know the FX are breathtaking.

"The Assignment" (2016)
A hit man (Michelle "Lost" Rodriguez) undergoes forced sex change surgery by a deranged plastic surgeon (Sigourney Weaver), and is turned into a hit woman. Naturally, he/she doesn't take to this new situation very well and he (she?) quickly sets out to get revenge.
...so maybe a more accurate title for this movie would have been "The RE-Assignment?"
This twisty action flick from Walter "48 HRS" Hill takes a little while to get into gear, but once the bodies start piling up it's pretty much a gender-bent "John Wick." Not a must see but a decent time waster.
