| I found another "lost" USB drive in my car. This one has several "Miscellaneous Music" directories on it so I fired it up today while I was working. Man, this was all over the place; everything from Elton John's "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" to Dream Evil ("We were chasing the drag-awn") to weird alternative stuff like Shriekback and The Primitons.
Made for a fun listen but I wish I knew what prompted me to make that directory and how I picked what I wanted in it. It seems like I just pulled random CDs out of The Vault and ripped songs from them but I don't remember doing that. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Manny, I like that Bang Tango album but it's pretty inconsistent IMO. I LOVE the first four tracks but after that it sort of just falls apart for me.
It seems even back then they couldn't figure out what their sound should be and the Walking On Coals album proved that when they went in a different direction. I actually ended up liking the second album more than the first one. But I prefer Joe LeSte's first Beautiful Creatures album to either of those Bang Tango ones but then that band too "tweaked" their sound on their second release and broke up after that which leads me to conclude that LeSte is the main reason his bands seem so inconsistent. At least to me. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Overkill - Feel the Fire Dirty Rig - Rock Did It I think Book of Souls is good, but, it's one of those (like Nostradamus) that I have to really be in the mood for. They are great to throw on the turn table, grab a tall one, and settle in to read a book, or spend a few hours surfing the net. I never seem to wan to hear just one song.

The Book Of Souls is a chore to get through. A shame , too, because they're one of my favorite bands.

At least to me. It's a shame their third album Love After Death was never released properly in the US (at least initially when it was completed in 1994...not sure if any label has released it since). I think it's a really cool album.

I put it on for background noise while I worked from home today. After a while I said to myself, "shouldn't this have ended, like three songs ago?" Then I said "screw this, I'm puttin' on some Overkill." I've tried, I've realllly tried, but it's a dud. For what it's worth, I never got into JP's Nostradamus either. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
