I bought one of their CD's - the one with " You spin me - round and round - like a record baby "
My first impression was the singer sounded like a wild Ian Astbury

The second thing - that techno groove - like Madonna had. Fascinating listen.

Any fans of this band -
or other bands like this one....The Cure ?

Can’t deny they had a few catchy songs. They were similar to Frankie Goes to Hollywood or ABC.

The singer was like a pirate version of Boy George.  

I liked them well enough for the five minutes that they were popular. They disappeared off the charts quickly in the UK but remained popular in Japan where this was No1 for a staggering 17 weeks!!



They were nothing like The Cure though, it was 100% gay disco from the Stock Aitken Waterman stable.


Sadly the singer stayed in infamy in the U.K for his plastic surgery addiction



Unfortunately he died of a heart attack in 2016. Probably not helped by the trauma of 300+ elective surgeries!

I thought the King Kobra guy / woman singer - was super bizarre.

His attempts to 'revive his career' premiered in the documentary 'Pete Burns Unspun' on Living TV,
where he lived with a fan due to court conditions.
Burns was declared bankrupt in December 2014
and was evicted from a rented flat in April 2015 for non-payment of over £34,000 in rent.
