This Week's Lunchtime Poll Topic

Another long time favorite of mine is Flotsam & Jetsam. This band has never gotten a fair shake in the music biz, but have played great thrashy metal for over 20 years. They have fallen victim to the MCA Records curse (the label where bands go to die in non-promotional purgatory) and are best known as being Jason Newsted's old band. But this is a band that does not deserve to be overlooked.

Surely there are fans of this band on this board.

What is your favorite album of theirs?

Mine is When The Storm Comes Down. I think that album is an unrecognized thrash classic. But there isn't a turd in the bunch.

Doomsday is easily my favorite.

I picked NPFD but it probably could've been either one of the first two. But actually, I really enjoy the first four.

I chose Cuatro but i could have picked NPFD just as easy. I actually love all their records and been a fan since '92.

I voted for High, but they're all good. They don't seem to get the recognition they deserve and will probably be better known as that Newsted kid's old band.

Storm probably

I picked Cuatro. It was my first introduction to these guys and is one of my all time favorite albums. Doomsday... would be almost neck to neck with it. Cuatro is one of metal's most underrated albums IMO. Favorite songs include: Hypodermic Midnight Snack, Natural Enemies, Double Zero, and Swating At Flies.

I guess you`ve got a good point Spectrefate, they are not promoted very well. But noone stays in purgatory forever, so maybe there is hope??

Is the cuss word filter editing the "A-S-S" in the word C-L-A-S-S-I-C now? This is the second place I've noticed that on this board today. The first time I thought someone was being funny but now I'm not so sure....

Mods, ya might wanna turn that cuss filter's intensity down JUST a tad.

I'm surprised so many have voted Doomsday. Even though it's a great debut album the songs are a little chessy/weak compared to the next album on.

Doomsday was one of those albums I grew up with. It cannot be topped, although I like their whole catalog.

DOOMSDAY is my favorite.....

No Place for Disgrace by miles!!!!! Doomsday for the Deceiver is nothing special to me, and the only other FAJ album I've heard was Unnatural Selection, but I didn't enjoy it much.

Exactly!!! Especially some lyrics, for example Metalshock, Iron Tears, USLW ... while the NPFD is excellent on both counts!!!

No place for Disgrace,with DOOMSDAY coming in second

No Place For Disgrace was my intro and still my favorite. When The Storm Comes Down would get my next vote.
