I feel the same way. I kinda like it and if the price was right, I'd probably grab it, but it's not a priority.

I really want to see this band live. It would be great to hear Montrose, Sammy solo, Van Hagar, and Chickenfoot material all in one set. The new song is pretty good, and I love this style so I'll definitely get the full album.

Yea, the first album these guys put out was a live recording. The set-list was pretty bitchin'. I wouldn't mind having that one.
1. There's Only One Way to Rock 2. Rock Candy 3. Good Times Bad Times 4. Poundcake 5. I Can't Drive 55 6. Mikey Bass Solo 7. When It's Love 8. Whole Lotta Love 9. Little White Lie 10. When the Levee Breaks
Disc 2 1. Jason Drum Solo/Moby Dick 2. Why Can't This Be Love 3. Finish What Ya Started 4. Heavy Metal 5. Vic Guitar Solo 6. Best of Both Worlds 7. Right Now 8. Rock and Roll 9. Dreams

Montrose has a writing credit on the song.

That's real close-by to me. I wouldn't mind going. That place has been getting some decent acts there as of late. Those casinos have more money than they know what to do with.

FRESNO! My all-time favorite venue in this joint, too! I am so going.
Every video I've seen of this band performing, and I've checked out quite a lot, has left me with my jaw on the floor. The Vic Johnson is a fucking fantastic player, too. He can't "ShrEddie (not proud that I came up that on my own)," he has his own flavor that still compliments the original tunes well enough.

You'll have to post a review! I have to wait until the last show of the tour to see them...

Well, fuck that. Tickets for the show just went on presale and the prices are outrageous. Balcony behind the mixer is near 200 bucks. Keep in mind this venue is a small theater (2100 seats). I guess this should come as no surprise, but I was really hoping for a lower price. Wish in one hand...
Also, DH, I'm definitely gonna check out that AvM movie with my kids this weekend. Movies with Fresno references are considered must-watch here in the valley (thank you, Airplane).

"Trust fund baby" has a lot of "I got the fire" in it. I'm sure they gave Ronnie Montrose a writing credit.

Wow, I just bought a presale ticket for the Chicago show. I paid $120 and I'm in the 10th row on Michael Anthony's side. It's an amphitheater show though.

I had high hopes for this album, but it turned out to be a major disappointment.
Of the 10 tracks, the first and last are basically intros and outros; even though they have lyrics there is not much of a song structure.
The first four songs just kind of plod along. Track 5, "Free Man," at least has some crunch to it, and could probably work in a live setting, but it doesn't have much of a hook at all.
I think the only songs I would bother listening to again are "Trust Fund Baby" and "Affirmation." And I can see the latter getting annoying and repetitive quite easily.
Too bad, I thought this lineup would have put out a much better album, or at least even a mediocre one. I couldn't call this even half as good as either of the Chickenfoot studio albums though.

I pretty much agree with you, glassprison. As I mentioned before most of the songs end rather suddenly and awkwardly. At first I thought Hagar’s voice was finally showing his age but it’s just uninspired and lazy throughout. This is his worst album to date IMO. I thought it would be a killer album especially for all the years he’s been shrugging off Satch.

I have seen this a few times at a local chain, and the price is good for a 2 disc set, but I feel like it's a novelty to me that would get the cursory couple a spins and then get shelved for the next item I purchase.
