The Happytime Murders~So this one got lambasted by everyone, but I thought it to be equal parts funny and completely irreverent. Good to see that Brian Henson has a sense of humor and obviously someone spent way too much $$$ making this. This one was an amalgamation of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Let My Puppets Cum, if you have to ask you don't get to know.
I saw several trailers for that flick and my first and only thought was "Somebody else besides me has seen 'Meet The Feebles'"

Ahhh yes and Meet The Feebles. That little known gem from the New Zealander what was his Lord of the Rings name, Peter Jackson, anyways???
The Happytime Murders certainly rips that no doubt about it.

The Road(2009)-Post apocalyptic drama about a man and his young son as they travel across the country in an attempt to try to find a new home in a world destroyed by a untold global disaster. All the while trying to survive cannibal gangs, starvation and the cold. Overall, I really liked this movie despite the fact it's depressing as hell in some places. I give it 3.5 chainsaws out of 5.

Hey, I actually found some time to watch a double feature!
Annihilation - good, but not as great as I had hoped. I do enjoy Alex Garland's work, but this one never hit the mark outside of some beautiful photography and creepy creature kills/weirdness.
1984 - revisited this, the most perfect adaptation of a book ever filmed, and with its original desaturation intact. Still a powerful nightmare to behold, whether or not one tries to tie the story to modern times. Still make me think for days on end. A great movie, not for everyone however.

Was that the 1984 with John Hurt and Richard Burton? If so, that movie is creepy good. And Al Jourgensen is a fan.

Yup! I've never seen a movie so perfectly match the source material in so many facets. Held up over time too; not the least bit dated.

Speaking of Netflix, today I watched a documentary about Bill Murray. I think he's now my favorite Hollywood actor. It's a trip some of the stuff he's done just randomly. Really down to earth guy. Great movie, well worth the watch. The full name of it is, The Bill Murray Stories: Life Lessons Learned From a Mythical Man.
I watched that last night. Very entertaining.

The Golden Child (1986)
Eddie Murphy as a private detective that specializes in missing children is given the task of locating the missing mystical Golden Child, kidnapped by dark forces. Not a bad film but it's a bit uneven, combining fantasy elements and Murphy's comedic bits.

Nightmare (1981)
A drug-treated lunatic, considered cured, skips out on further treatment ,and haunted by traumatic nightmares from his past, heads from New York City to Daytona in pursuit of his ex-wife and kids. Some nice gore credited to Tom Savini but an otherwise run of the mill slasher film. Not bad for fans of the genre.

Blood Rage (1987)
Identical twins brothers are at the drive in with their mother and her date. Seeing his mother making out sets the one off and he drags his brother out of the back of the station wagon. Discovering a small are in the back of a pickup truck, the one twin like a teen he sees having sex in the backseat of a car and pins it on his brother, who gets institutionalized. 10 years later on Thanksgiving, the mom announces she's getting remarried and the innocent twin simultaneously escapes, setting off a killing spree. Some decent gore effects but that's about it.
Drive In Massacre (1976)
Two detectives try to catch a psycho staking and killing random people at a drive in theater with a sword. That's pretty much all that happens in this story, with sub plots that go nowhere and a very stupid ending. Avoid this one.

"Don't F*** In The Woods" (2016)
Seriously, how can you pass up a movie with a title like THAT? Unfortunately, it's the best thing about this micro-budget, shot on video horror flick about a group of annoying twenty-somethings who go on a camping trip and then get killed off by a creature who apparently doesn't like the sound of uglies bumpin'. Yep, real high concept stuff. If watching a bunch of skeezy, pierced & tattooed non-actors performing in the least sexy sex scenes ever filmed before their cheap, gory death scenes sounds like your deal, go nuts. I think I've had about enough of these "GoFundMe" horror movies.

I'm not surprised... IMDB sez its budget was only $10K, they probably made that back (and then some) just from selling the streaming rights.
What're they gonna call it, "We Told You Not to F*** in the Woods?"

Continuing down the sh**ty shot-on-video horror rabbit hole (pun intended)... "Bunni" (2013)
A group of revelers on their way home from a Halloween party decide to break into an abandoned costume shop, and soon learn that the old place is home to a lady slasher in a Playboy bunny outfit who's not fond of trespassers. ...yes, seriously. Once again, nobody in this movie can act worth a spit, but the gore is gloriously cheap sickness and the girls are nice to look at, which puts this movie a few notches above "Don't F*** In The Woods," even though that's faint praise.

Wow, where are you coming up with these bottom of the barrel flicks FF? I've never heard of either Don't F in the Woods or Bunni but based on your reviews I'm not missing anything. If I'm going to watch some no budget horror movie with zero acting ability on display it better at least be really, REALLY gory; like August Underground or something.
