I think my favourite album of all time falls between those years:
Man can you imagine! I picked up this BG album years ago and barely gave it a listen. It was a purchase from the now closed virgin megastore during one of those sales. I remember focusing on other albums which i had picked up at the same time. I need to give it a fresh spin. | |

| This is impossible! I LOVE modern Thrash, I love Symphonic Death Metal, I love Power Metal...and I think a lot of eras, especially the last 20 years, have a huge amount of volume of things I love, but for purely historical/noteworthy reasons I have to go with 81-83. On this alone: Iron Maiden Killers -1981, Number of the Beast - 1982, Piece of Mind - 1983 Then, you have: Dio - Holy Diver - 1983 Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil - 1983 Twisted Sister - Under the Blade - 1982 Quiet Riot - Metal Health - 1983 Fastway - Fastway - 1983 The births of Slayer, Metallica, Jag Panzer What a great stretch! | |

| 84-87 is winning because it has an extra year compared to the other options near it. | |
