| Just curious - "Decluttr" ( http://www.decluttr.com/ ) is one of those sites that will buy your old CDs, DVD/Blu-Rays, video games, etc. and re-sells them, ala SecondSpin.
Someone at work hipped me to them this morning so I took a quick look thru their CDs and found a couple of interesting items - nothing mind blowingly rare, just some common catalog stuff, fairly cheap...so I'm thinking about placing an order. Just wondering if anyone here has dealt with them before, and if so, how the experience went.
Thanks in advance. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I've never sold anything or bought from them directly, but I have purchased cd's from them through eBay. Their prices are very reasonable (re: cheap) and so far I haven't had any issues with them. Everything has been used, but in good working order. No scratches or skipping, booklets and inserts are fine.
Whenever I find a cd on ebay that I want, I'll narrow my search to "Lowest + Shipping" and 9 times outta 10, Decluttr is the lowest. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | ^^ Cool, thanx MG. I was also thinking that I have a pretty decent pile of old DVDs and CDs sitting around @ home that I have been unsuccessful in trading here and elsewhere, so I might punch 'em into Decluttr tonight and see what kind of offer they gimme for 'em. Then I can turn that around and use whatever they pay me for my old stuff to buy some new stuff. It's the circle of life! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Thanks in advance. All the time, but through their eBay sore...it's a tiny bit cheaper but for the same stock. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| They also used to go by the name of estocks_usa on eBay, whom I've also purchased from. I guess they renamed themselves. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | They do sell cheap, but they also don't pay very much when they buy from you. Discs that Secondspin may give a $ 1.00 for Declutter were offering only .50 cents or less. | |

| Yes. A lot. Through Ebay of course. Oddly enough, they were the recent recipients of the first negative I have ever given in almost 15 years. I bought a ton when they were known as estocks_usa and they are always super cheap. Give 'em a chance though, I think you will like what you get. | |

| Well, I just spent my Friday night at the computer with my big ass stack of unwanted CDs/DVDs, typing their UPC codes into the "Sell us your stuff" section of Decluttr, and then also into Secondspin.com, just for comparison's sake. Each one has its pros and cons. Selling-wise I think I'd be better off unloading this heap on Secondspin. Neither site offered a ton of $$, but Secondspin consistently offered more than Decluttr - even if it was only 50 cents a disc, cuz Decluttr only offered me 5 or 10 cents per disc for quite a few of 'em.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to get rich here, I just wanna clear out some shelf space, but geez, that's just chintzy, haha. On the other hand, Decluttr picks up the shipping tab for your stuff (they email you a pre-paid UPS label) while SecondSpin doesn't, though they will calculate a "shipping credit" amount and add it to your order total once they receive your package. On both sites, quite a few of my discs came up either "Sorry, we're not accepting any more of that title" or "Sorry, we don't recognize that bar code," but I think there was less of that with Secondspin. S.S. also takes record club CDs (Columbia House, BMG, etc.), of which I have several, but I couldn't find anything about whether or not Decluttr accepts club CDs in their F.A.Q. So if I do go thru with this sell-off idea, it looks like Secondspin is most likely gonna get the nod, and whatever's left will get donated to Goodwill... hell, that's where I bought half of 'em anyway. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| secondspin has been having a lot of issues lately with getting orders right, almost to the point where I am not sure i will buy from them anymore. _________________ | |

It was easier (and more fun) to get rid of this sh** when we still had used-CD stores to pawn them off on. Now it's too damn complicated! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| The last few times I've sold to Secondspin, I had to send several e-mails Inquiring about my payment. If you do sell, I would keep my tracking number to confirm when they received it. | |

Yeah, y'know the more I'm reading on the Net about Secondspin, both here and elsewhere, the less I like them. I've ordered stuff from them a couple of times in the past and had no complaints, but it's been a few years, and in that time it appears that their customer service for both sellers and buyers has gone down the tubes. I am still continuing to go thru my CDs and cull stuff I don't dig anymore, so I probably won't be pulling the trigger with either site for a while anyway. Hell, at the rate I'm going I might just stick all the rejects in a box in the closet for a while till I make up my damn mind. Or maybe I'll just post 'em in one of my local "Garage Sale" Facebook groups. "Instant CD collection! Fifty bucks or best offer! Must take all!" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I'll usually try ebay first, but after 3 times, if it doesn't sell, off it goes. It pains me to just ditch stuff that I paid for, but on the other hand, I try and think that maybe, just maybe, I made someone's day when they come across that last Lenny Kravitz disc they've been looking for to complete their collection. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. We have a sell/trade section but it doesn't seem to get much action nowadays. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

We have a sell/trade section but it doesn't seem to get much action nowadays. That's kind of a shame. I would actually rather give you and MG and CorpHicks and the gang my hard earned cash for cd's and tapes than some warehouse on ebay. Since I got on this cassette binge a few months back I keep checking that section hoping someone was listing some at some great prices. Oh, well, a sentinel can dream. Ha. | |

| This figures... I've been spending all this time trying to decide whether to sell a bunch of my unwanted CDs/movies on DeCluttr, but this week I ended up buying someone else's unwanted stuff from them instead. I was rooting around in their used-CD stock and came across a couple of Motorhead discs I was missing ( Sacrifice and a King Biscuit Flower Hour live disc) so I jumped on 'em. Just got the shipping confirmation e-mails on 'em both this morning. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I'm de-cluttering for the first time because I'm actually sick of having vinyl all over the house(when the crap you are collecting is over spilling from the entire room that you have devoted to it, there's a problem! ), but because home improvements are expensive I'm concentrating on vinyl that will bring in $$$ but I don't really care about. At present I'm going to eBay route. I keep on promising my self that I'm going to concentrate on downloads from now on but I'm really old fashioned. | |
