British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST have released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the death of their former drummer Dave Holland:
"It is with regret that we hear of the passing of Dave Holland. Despite his actions since working with the band, his time with us was amongst the most productive and successful in the band's career and for that alone he shall be missed."

His role in Priest was the same as Ian Hill... to be as basic as possible in the background.
Exactly, and that's why Les Binks would not fit in w/the dumbed down 80's style direction most band were heading in. If it wasn't for this track, most of us would never know Priest had a bass player!

Without a doubt, Dave Holland played on my favorite Priest albums. Shocked to read he was accused...and served time...... Like reading about John St. John with KISS.... Or Scorpions musician saying he saw a woman “snuffed” etc I figured he’d be a millionaire.....well off.... Not someone giving drum lessons to special needs kid.

Dave Holland was no Neil Peart but he was a solid drummer, a live, he and Ian Hill were well oiled metal machine. The guy was not flashy but felt he fit the material he was asked to drum on.

Well this is a shock! He wasn't the flashiest drummer but he was solid. I have Glenn Hughes first solo album and he played on it and his playing was great.
