That Vinnie Moore is a good one. "Voice of America" is a solid Hagar effort too. Probably his best known album cuz of the first track, but one I like to spin every now and again. Good score, DB.

Stopped by a church rummage sale here in town today, looking for CDs as usual, and as I somewhat expected most of what they had was either Christmas or classical. Ugh. However, I did find a lone CD that looked intriguing - "Capital Punishment" by a band called "GRYN." Apparently this was a self released disc by a band from Kansas, circa 1995. (Metal-Archives sez they're from Texas, though, so maybe they moved.) How this wound up (still sealed no less!) in a box of junk CDs at a church rummage sale in New Jersey is a mystery, haha. Anyway, it sounds like pretty much what I expected given the time frame - local yokels channeling the '90s groove/thrash thang ala Pantera, C.O.C., Prong, Sepultura, etc. I've heard better but I've also heard way worse, haha. For fifty cents it's a weird/cool collector's piece.
Anybody heard of 'em? This album didn't even have a listing on RateYourMusic (until I added it myself), but here's some YouTube evidence from one of their other CDs (Metal Archives sez they released two full lengths and 2 EP's):

Glad to hear that, I was taking a chance on Vinne Moore. I just knew of his reputation but have never heard his solo material.

I prefer this Broken Teeth.
They're like Obituary doing hardcore.
Which means you guys will hate it. Haha.

I like the music but I find Jason McMaster's voice starts grating on my ears for a whole album.

Holy crap, I've been waiting for a new Bosstones album for forever. I went to Amazon looking for a Bosstones T shirt and discovered this new album which was just released on 6/15.
Mighty Mighty Bosstones has become one of my favorite bands so I'm psyched to have some new music from them!
I'm a big fan. This one is pretty poppy. Probably not surprising at this point. Wish they'd bring back that heavier edge they used to have.
I don't mind the peppiness but there's too much ska on this one IMO. At least upon first listen. Too much ska, not enough hard rock. I don't expect them to revert back to their "metal phase" from the earlier albums but this one isn't even as hard/heavy as "Let's Face It" which was their commercial breakthrough.

Oh yea, I get that. I always liked him in Dangerous Toys, but with Broken Teeth, he's a little over the top.

I didn't care much for Breakin' Outta Hell either. The lyrics seemed really, really juvenile. I don't expect Shakespeare from a band like this, but some of the songs were just cringe-worthy, like they were written by a 14 year old boy that just saw his first boobie.
