I made my first CD purchase of the year today...

This album arrived in the mail later than expected, but I finally got it a few days ago.

I spun it yesterday for the first time, very good stuff.

What ever does that band logo even say?

I say that about most of the bands RF posts in the "Playlist" thread.

In fact I say that about most bands doing that style of music period.

Take a band like Borknagar for instance.  If you're going to have some weird, obscure name for your band, does it really help your cause to have your logo look like this:



Or are logos like this perfectly legible to fans of the genre?  Seriously, I'm not being facetious here; maybe you just have to get used to reading it?

Been looking for this on CD for like 20 years. They were from North Carolina, sounded like Alice In Chains meets Saigon Kick. So good!

Based on the AIC/SK comparison I thought I'd really dig that. But I don't; to me it sounds like the more boring moments of AIC. I hear the comparison but I think there's way too much AIC in the sound; it needs more SK moments.

It's a bit more early Alice In Chains, too, like pre-Facelift stuff.

I think that could be said of all 4 Beatles in their solo years really. Who knows where John would have gone eventually, but all the weird artsy stuff he did with Yoko? Ugh. George had some great songs, but he too could get kinda weird with all the Indian-based stuff. Ringo? Well, he allegedly put out albums of music, right?
