Anyone watch Impact? It's improved immensely. While it's not perfect, at least the show is much better than the Dixie Carter era. I like Pentagon, Fenix, Tessa Blanchard, Sami Callahan, Brian Cage, KM, Moose, and even Fallah Baah.
Raw continues to suck while Smackdown is doing pretty well (not perfect by any means, but a damn site better than the flagship show). Funny how years ago in the first brand split I would read Smackdown results and only watch Raw. Now I feel like switching that around.
BTW, I was right. The fans are still booing Roman after he took out Braun at the end of Raw Monday. Turning Braun heel was a stupid decision and just like with Becky Lynch, it's backfired.
Oh, and it's official, the Riott Squad are now the female Ascension.
Hell In A Cell PPV is this Sunday and I'm not expecting much from it (or from the Raw side anyway).

Roman Reigns was the "guest picker" on ESPN's College Game Day today and he's just as boring outside of WWE as he is in it. He brought no "oomph" to the show at all. It was like he was reading his picks, just like he sounds like he's reading promos in the ring.

^^^ I was at Smoky Bones for lunch today and they had that playing on one of their tv screens. I couldn't hear it though.

It was funny because as Roman was walking to the Gameday stage, host Chris Fowler kept saying, "C'mon, more enthusiasm." Nope, typical Roman Reigns; I swear the guy is constantly on anti-depressants or something.

Going to do something different this PPV. Going to give my predictions vs. what I would like to happen.
Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse:
Not a fan of this one. Should have kept it between DB and Miz. In this case, I don't have a horse in the race and don't care what happens here. I predict it will be DB and Brie so both guys are even in the feud leading up to a rubber match.
The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and/or Xavier Woods) (c) vs. Rusev and Aiden English
Getting sick of the New Day (one of the low points on Smackdown is the pancake stupidity IMO). It's high time one of the most organically over gimmicks (Rusev Day) to get it's due. However, I predict The New Day because I'm alone it seems on the "tired of New Day" train.
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Braun Strowman
The tone deafness of the "lets make Roman the face of our company" has gotten out of hand with the latest heel turn of Stroman (NOT working) so I certainly don't want Roman to win. So I predict Roman will.
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
As much as I like Alexa, Rousey had adapted to WWE as good as Kurt Angle did when he started. While I think it was a bit too early to give her the belt, now that she has it, I feel she should keep it for a long time (hopefully destroying Niki Bella's record reign-she was never talented enough to have such a streak). I predict she will keep the title.
Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton
Not much of a fan of either guy but Orton has become the most interesting he's been in some time so I would like him to pick up the win. This is a good bet because Jeff Hardy is due to take some time off as he's been fighting some nagging injuries. I predict Hardy will do some stupefying, dare devil swanton bomb and completely miss giving Orton the win.
Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Becky Lynch
Both are fantastic performers but Charlotte has had her time in the sun, it's time to let Becky have hers. Also, I love that the heel turn failed. This new character for Becky is just taking off, it would kill the momentum too much if she were to lose. I will go with Becky on this one.
Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose
Not sure who I want to win this one and it is also very hard to predict. However, I will go with Shawn Michaels and Diesel over the Shield.
AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe
First prediction, this will be the match of the night. Joe and AJ know each other inside and out and put their all into every match they have. I feel Samoa Joe should pick this one up. AJ has been great (phenomenal?) as the champion but Joe needs to have a go at it. We need to have a good heel champion for a while to wash the bad taste of Jinder our of our mouths. However, I feel that WWE may really want somebody to beat CM Punk's reign and AJ is the only right now that can conceivably do this right now. So my second prediction will be AJ retaining his title.
I probably won't do a recap as the PPV is going but will revisit my predictions and see how many I guessed right.

Didn't have to wait for this one as it was on the pre-show. Sadly, my prediction was true, The New Day train moves along.

Not doing the play by play thing but I will mention something about the Hardy/Orton match which opens the show. The rumors are that just like Matt, Jeff plans on hanging it up soon. This could be his final match. Good news Toho, looks like the Hardy's might be gone for good this time. My sister's husband will like it too because he's never been a Hardy fan either.
Oh, and this is stupid, the whole cage has been painted red. Very distracting.

Another prediction came true, I'm 2-0! Jeff put a large ladder in front of a table to land on Orton. He swings from the top of the cage only for Orton to get off the table and Hardy came crashing down.

Again I was right... sort of. AJ tapped out as he was pinning Joe but the ref never saw the tap out. Either way, AJ keeps his title and my streak goes on! 5-0

Well that prediction was completely off! Then again, who could have predicted Brock Lesnar returning. He came out with Paul, kicked down the door to the cage (at this point the Shield and new Shawn Michaels and Diesel had taken each other out-very predictable fall from half way down the cage by Ziggles and Seth onto two announce tables), then proceeded to break a table on Braun and beat both men with the pieces while Paul sprayed stuff in Mick Foley's eyes. This prompted a replacement ref to come out and declare the match over.
Though my prediction was wrong, Roman is still the champion so I will give myself half a prediction.
6.5-1.5
Pretty pedestrian and predictable PPV at least until the end surprise (though not sure I like Brock being back-least of all so soon). None of the matches were completely terrible so I can give this PPV a C+, + because the end took me (and everybody else I assume) by surprise.

On the WWE card app I got 2/4 predictions correct, Rhonda and AJ retained as i thought they would. Lynch beat Flair (sad) and the Braun /Roman match no contest freaking Brock, what a pansy
One of the commenters raised an interesting point. A lot of these plaintiffs wrestled for other organizations too so how can they prove that their CTE developed while wrestling for WWE?

Guess you've got to admire his honesty. Though I'm not sure that someone who has been shown to be an addict can be confident that he can still do the stuff he was addicted to without slipping again. Who knows, perhaps he can.
