I thought it was gonna be James Lomenzo, who Michael already works with in Sweet/Lynch.

Firehouse are one of my favourite bands. Where the hell are they? Did they disband?

They haven't released any new material in some time, but they play fly-in dates year round. I've seen them 5 times in the past 10 years. Always a great show!

Perry hasn't been in Firehouse for awhile now,right?

Yeah, not since 2000 or so. Not sure what he's been up to in the meantime.

Yeah he was my guess as well.

Anyway I think it's a good choice. Guess we'll see how it goes.

You might be interested in the project that vocalist C.J. Snare did with Chris Green called Rubicon Cross. It came out a few years back and is pretty good.

He toured in the country circuit for 15 years....first with Trace Adkins then 13 years w/ Craig Morgan.

Love this choice for Stryper! Excited to hear what he brings to the band!

Y'know, I'm starting to understand why Michael Sweet sometimes comes across as such a grouch online.

A. "Is Perry a Christian?"
(...and not for nothin', does that really matter? Even if he isn't, I would imagine that he must at least be cool with their religious leanings, or he wouldn't have gotten the gig, obviously...)

and

B. "Will Stryper play any Firehouse songs at live shows? "
(smacks forehead)

...if I was dealing with that over and over again for 24 hours straight, it would make me cranky too!

Even if he (Perry) wasn't a Christian (just a hired gun) do they really think he would be taking over and write the lyrics? Michael Sweet is the songwriter. I guess they would rather have a major A-hole in the band... as long as he is technically a Christian.
