"Titled The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter, it will feature 15 tracks recorded on the band’s world tour in support of the record and will be available on November 17 via Warner Music/BMG on CD, deluxe CD and vinyl audio formats, with the concert film available to stream free online or as a digital download.
Bassist Steve Harris, who co-produced the album with Tony Newton, says: “We spent a huge amount of time working on this as I wanted to get it as close to the Maiden live experience as I possibly could and to represent our fans from different parts of the world.
“This meant listening to literally hours upon hours of tapes from every show to select material and construct a sound that would run consistently across the whole album and capture the excitement of a new country like El Salvador alongside such regular favourites as Donington or Wacken.”

Yep, I feel the same way. I already own Maiden Japan, Live After Death, and Rock In Rio, so I think I've got all the live Maiden stuff I'm ever gonna need.
Esp. since Book of Souls was kinda "meh" IMO, just like the last couple of albums. I didn't think it sucked, but once the "newness" wore off I haven't revisited it much.

It's for fans. You don't have to buy it.
I am interested in how the new songs sound like. As long as there's no Fear of the Dark or Run to the Hills.

Will most likely get it. Love to hear what the new songs sound like live.
Hope they release a dvd too.

...so no DVD/Blu Ray at this time, which is kinda weird. I know DVDs/Blu's don't sell as much as they used to but Lord knows Maiden has more than enough ultra-fanboy collectors/hoarders who buy one of everything to make it worth the trouble.

Sorry Lari. You're getting another live version of 'Fear' whether you like it or not.
I'm not big on live albums and already have my share of Maiden live releases, however, since I actually saw this tour and it's the exact set-list they played, I just might pick this up. I can pretend it's a bootleg from the Philly show and that's me in the audience yelling "WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! MAIIIIIDENNNNN!!"

Exactly. Maiden fans always buy the band's dvds. I personally own several of their dvds.

It was a good tour, good set list, but I always hope for the older songs getting played over the new ones. I might buy it, but no big deal if it gets forgotten.

I'm the opposite, whenever I see Maiden live. I like the new songs and I wish they even played new songs I don't love (yet). It's a way to get into them, and provides a fond memory of them that sticks.

Um... yeah... I am hoping for a BluRay release in the future. Killer tour, the new songs sound even better live (The Red & The Black and title track live - just KILLER!)
I'm in, only thing that sucks is not a single song for a show I was at.... O well, at least I was I at the the NJ gig for Rime in Flight 666.

I generally don't bother with live albums, but since Speed of Light is from the concert I was at, I might just pick this one up.

Which show did you attend? It's probably fairly easy to find a decent quality bootleg recording.
Maiden almost always releases a live album following a major tour, especially when it is in support of a new album. I don't mind it, as the demand is obviously there from their diehard fan base, and as others have mentioned, some of the songs tend to sound better live than the studio versions. I like the way Bruce sang the chorus for If Eternity Should Fail live...it's a bit different from the studio version. The Red and the Black was awesome live, and I don't think it came across as well on the studio album, especially given the quality of Shirley's production.

haha, yeah those Blaze era shows are definitely interesting. I like how they wouldn't tune down even a half step to help him out.

Another unnecessary cash grab IMO...
I haven't liked anything they've done since Brave New World.

I wonder if these live releases are contractual. The fan base does like to eat them up.
I wouldn't mind hearing the Book of Souls songs live.

They should definitely do a Blaze era DVD next in their History set. Include that horror/magic gimmick show with Bruce, too.
And of course another great documentary.

THAT'S IT!
And your libraries over there are pretty rad if they carry Maiden tapes.

Yea, would it have killed them to throw us a bone and put at least one US show on there?
