Subject: Gary Lenaire (ex-Tourniquet) - No Time Now Sun Jul 30, 2017 6:52 am
Gary Lenaire just released a new album. There are 10 songs of which 3 are completely new and 7 are from his earlier Talking Snakes project. It's currently on iTunes.
He has uploaded four of the songs on youtube.
Stop the Bleeding (featuring Guy Ritter)
Wasted Fire - my personal favorite!
No Time Now
Fell Sirens to the Sea (originally a Talking Snakes song)
exact33 The King

I thought the vocals are good. My only issue with some of the songs was with the sound quality on rhythm guitars. To me they sounded a bit demo-like and with the crisp quality of the lead guitars they kinda stick out too much. Never thought someone would not like the vocals.
It think that especially in Fell Sirens to the Sea the vocals are really good. Definitely no worse than his vocals in Tourniquet.
One thing I really love in this album is the part at 0:18-0:33 in Wasted Fire. I wish the whole song was based on that.

I like it better than I thought I would. There's some good guitar work going on. I was hoping Guy would use some falsetto on that song but for the most part I dig it.

I've always liked Gary's vocals. He sounds similar to Kurt Bachman from Believer.
That said, I won't buy this if it's download only...

For me Stop the Bleeding lured me in but the only albums i love by them are that and Pathogenic Occular Dissonance , and from Vanishing Lessons the song Bearing Gruesome Cargo is awesome and thats the extent of my love for the Tqt

I like all Tourniquet albums with Guy Ritter and Gary Lenaire, but my favorite will always be Psychosurgery because it's their most straightforward Thrash style album. Almost like a Christian version of Exodus. The first album was more like King Diamond.
