Had my share (more than my share, actually) of Genesee Cream Ales over the holiday weekend.
Then last night I cracked my annual Heineken mini-keg (Christmas gift from an office mate)... when that runs out I'll be beerless again!

I won't be beerless for a long time. I have 7 of those Samuel Adams winter classics 12 packs in the garage

On a hunch, I went to the town where I used to live looking for more of the limited release Schlafly Holiday Ale that was only available through one grocery store chain around here. I figured if any of those stores still had any in stock it would be one in hoity, toity Chesterfield.
Bingo! Picked up 8 more bottles! I now have a stash of 14 bottles of this stuff. It's 9% ABV so I'm gonna "cellar" some and see how it ages. Beer like this is often like wine or scotch; the longer it's aged the mellower it gets. Right now there's a little bite of an alcohol bit in the finish so I want to see if it changes over time. My fellow beer snob at work already wants to buy 2 or 3 bottles from me.

Well, it's an IPA so I'd probably hate it but at least you went with a smaller brewery.

Albani is a danish brewery, probably the second most popular next to Carlsberg in this country- I don't know if you can get it in the States, but I know you can get Carlsberg Elephant, which is alright but not amazing. Albani's signature beers are Pilsner, Classic, Giraf and Giraf Gold - I drink the Giraf Gold variety. The original Giraf, which is 7,2 % ABV, is the beer you will most likely find in the states - I have no idea if it is even sold there, though.

Sierra Nevada brews here in Chico, where I live. There are plenty of good beers that are only available in the area or at their personal store.

You can get some Sierra Nevada beers here but they're probably the more common ones.

I'm down to 5 Samuel Adams Winter Classic 12 packs plus 12 bottles of Dragon's Milk that I'm aging in my "beer cellar".
Oh and I still have 11 pint and a half bottles of Schlafly's Holiday Ale left but 3 of those are going to my fellow beer snob at work.

I should keep an eye out for those Holiday Ales up here and ship them to you if I find some.

If you find any, let me know. If they're not too far away, I might actually drive there to pick them up. That stuff is goooooooood....

Anyone ever try this failed beer product? I didn't, as I wasn't old enough to drink when it was out. But I saw this commercial for it. Quite amusing.
Miller Clear Beer was around in the early 1990s. Whereas soft drinks are artificially colored, a beer's color is natural, which pretty makes it impossible to remove the color without destroying the taste.
