I have been jammin Helix since their first album in 1979...From the very beginning they were big in Amarillo where I come from and every single album received airplay from the first album...here is the first track I ever heard and fell in love with this album...(I still have the original album from 79)..Helix played in Amarillo on their very first Texas tour...

I totally forgot about this thread.
How is Helix even in this discussion? Kix just has so many great songs it's not even close IMO.

I only own Blow My Fuse by Kix. I need to give it a fresh spin.
I'd go with Helix, because i am more familiar with them. I have Walkin the razor's edge, Wild in the streets and No rest of the wicked, on cd.
Maybe i need to invest more into Kix.

Absolutely Helix for me, but I don't think I would say that if I had never seen them live. I don't think most of their studio records capture what they are. I saw them twice on the tour for Wild In The Streets, and that's when it clicked for me. I like Kix, but I think Brent Doerner and Paul Hackman were both much better guitarists than the Kix guys, and I don't feel any need to own anything beyond Midnight Dynamite and Blow My Fuse. Neither band has a consistently strong catalog.
