"Highway To Hell" (1991)
A young couple (Chad Lowe and Kristy "Original Buffy" Swanson) on their way to Vegas to get married take a detour on a remote desert highway that lands them in the underworld. As they search for an escape route, they encounter demonic bikers, a very determined lawman known as the Hellcop, and eventually, Beelzebub himself, who wants to take Kristy as his bride. Yikes! This very silly horror/action/comedy looks like it was thrown together on a budget of six bucks and a broken cracker but it boasts a surprising number of familiar faces, including Patrick "Sleeping With The Enemy" Bergin, Ben Stiller (and his parents Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara), Gilbert Gottfried (as Adolf Hitler!), and even Lita Ford. Someone must've called in a lot of favors! Make no mistake, this movie is godawful, but in a bizarrely entertaining way!

Started the first 4 episodes of Season 2 of 'Baskets'. I didn't think that show could get much darker after the Season 1 ending, but damn if they ain't trying. I'm not sure to laugh or cry at this show.
And I'd also like to give a shout-out to Louie Anderson's brilliant performance as Chip's mom. I'm starting to forget he's actually a man playing a woman.

Same here.
This is my 4th time through the entire series. Truth be told, once you've seen the whole story arc, the first season is a bit of a struggle to get through. But once you The Shadows become known in Season 2 things take off.

"1941" (1979)
Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, a Japanese submarine is sighted off the California coast, which causes mass panic (and major property damage) in downtown Los Angeles. Steven Spielberg's big-budget slapstick comedy epic has mayhem to spare, but it tanked at the box office in spite of its amazing cast (incl. John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Nancy Allen, Tim Matheson, Christopher Lee, Robert Stack, and more). "1941" is way too long and overstuffed with far too many characters and subplots. For every gag that hits, there are a dozen more that fall flat. I hadn't seen this movie in dog years and as I expected it hasn't aged very well, but I still got a couple of laughs from it. Worth seeing at least once.

I saw 1941 in the theaters when it came out and the only thing I remember about it was me sitting there thinking "Good Lord, when is this thing going to be over????"

^^^ I hadn't seen "1941" since I was in my teens. I had forgotten what an amazing cast it had, I guess at that time everyone wanted to work with Spielberg as he was coming off of "Jaws" and "Close Encounters." From what I've read, Spielberg was on a bit of an ego trip at the time and thought he could do no wrong, but this movie taught him otherwise.
I watched it a bunch of times when it first hit cable in the early 80s. Even then I knew it wasn't very good, but it's got some funny bits (the guys on the Ferris wheel with the ventriloquist dummy still kill me - "WHOOOOOOOAAAAAA JEEZUS CHRIST IT'S A SUB!") There's just soooo much dead space in between the good parts. I watched the Directors' Cut, which runs two and a half hours (!!) - there was NO reason for it to be that long. It could have easily been boiled down to 90 minutes, and it would've been a much tighter and funnier movie....

"The Kentucky Fried Movie" (1977)
Believe it or not, I'd never seen this longtime drive-in favorite and late night cable staple till today! A pre-"Animal House" John Landis and the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker writing team (later of "Airplane!" fame) teamed up for this cult sketch comedy flick that's kinda like flipping through a raunchier version of MAD magazine. The rapid fire segments include takeoffs on TV news, commercials, and parodies of blaxploitation movies ("Cleopatra Schwartz") and kung-fu flicks ("A Fistful Of Yen"). Not every gag is a hit but there's more than enough goofball humor in "KFM" to appeal to everyone's inner 12 year old.

"Superman & Batman: Apocalypse" (2010)
Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin from Krypton, arrives on Earth and understandably has some trouble fitting in. When the evil Darkseid decides that Kara would make a nice addition to his tribe of warrior women back on his hellish home planet Apokolips, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman team up for a rescue mission. Cue the usual animated ultra-violence. This was a pretty "meh" entry in the DC Animated Universe series. It didn't suck but there are far better ones out there.

Today on the elliptical I watched:
Babylon 5: S3,E6
They really do a lot of farting around in this series when you know where the overall story arcs are going. So far in Season 3 only about every other episode furthers the overall story arcs. They could easily trim each season down to about 7 or 8 episodes and the whole thing would be much more compelling.
It's still a great series but it's frustrating once you've seen the whole thing a number of times.

Godzilla vs Mothra (1964)
Another favorite from my youth (known then as Godzilla vs The Thing), this one is about a giant egg and Godzilla washed ashore Japan after a typhoon. The egg turns out to belong to Mothra and the people involved ask the Shobijin (twin faeries) to get Mothra in stopping the giant monster. A great movie all around (and the last film where Godzilla is a "bad guy").

If you're watching the "G" series chronologically the next one up is one of my favorites and features my favorite Kaiju.

Still catching up on the current seasons of 'Supergirl', 'Powerless' and 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D', yes comic book inspired nerdness but I love superheroes/comic books as a kid, I guess I still do at age 46

Unfortunately not. I watch Svengoolie every Saturday night and this month is Godzilla month. Next week he's showing the goofy but still fun Godzilla's Revenge. I'd rather watch Ghidrah but what ya gonna do?
