What's up guys. I went out and caught this show last night. Line up was:
Forest of Legend - local band; https://forestoflegend.bandcamp.com
BottomFeeder - local band; http://thetruebottomfeeder.bandcamp.com
Joel Grind - http://joelgrind.bandcamp.com/album/fatal-planet
Child Bite - https://childbite.bandcamp.com
Black Fast - https://blackfast.bandcamp.com
Lord Dying - https://lorddying.bandcamp.com
First and foremost, I didn't know we had a local doom band. These kids from Forest of Legend blew my mind. Super slow, sludgy riffs ... everything I love in a doom band. BottomFeeder wasn't my cup o' tea but they looked like they had fun playing. I was excited for Joel Grind until I saw him set up two keyboards and a projector that was showing a rat dissection. I'm not into ambient instrumentals, but check it out if that's your thing.
Child Bite had a fun and lively set. You could tell they had been playing together for a while. They weren't really my style, kind of a punk/hardcore. They sounded different live than they do on their recorded stuff.
Black Fast. BLACK FAST. They might be my new favorite band. Thrash/Death meets black. They were tight as band. Every riff is awesome and every lead was perfect. Vocals were awesome. I didn't leave before I picked up their two albums.
Lord Dying hailing from Portland, Oregon wrapped up the evening, which was well past midnight at this point. I was impressed overall. They're like a heavier Red Fang if you will. I picked up a copy of their Poisoned Alters album.
TL;DR Black Fast and Lord Dying = awesome
