| The 80s was the golden age but I'm going to go with the 90s on this one because some of my favortie bands emerged during that time: Sentenced, Amorphis, Nightwish, Iced Earth, Hammerfall, Jag Panzer (yeah their first album was in the 80s but they re-emerged in the 90's), Hammerfall, etc. Also my favorite 80s bands released my favorite material in the 90s: Savatage, Blind Guardian, Helloween, etc. In order my favorite eras in order:

70s

| My fave era will be always the 80s but also love the 70s and the 90s from 1990 till 1993 and from 1997 till today. | |

| I love it all almost equally ... but if I were forced to answer at gunpoint - I'd say - RIGHT NOW!!!
I've not heard stuff this good ever!
I mean these bands have me sold on the current state of metal:
Therion
Nightwish
Leaves Eyes
Sirenia
Tristania
Kamelot
Stratovarius
Pagan's Mind
Silent Force
All of these bands are releasing stuff right now that really blows everything else out of the water heretoforth. |

| 80's thrash was great but I have to go with now as well especially this year in particular, great stuff coming out!
