That surprises me. I loved Living With the Ancients but didn't think that The Eldritch Dark was all that good and that the new one is a real return to top form.

I liked the first half of the album, but the last few songs kind of just fizzled out to me. I've only heard it twice though, and once was kind of distracted listening, so I need to give it another listen or two before I make up my mind totally about it.

Judas Priest...Battle Cry
later this week I will be getting Lita Ford's new album...

Battle cry is awesome. I did not include it in the list because i got the dvd. Amazing live performance. Highly recommended priest dvd.

I forgot to mention Autopsy's After the Cutting - a 4 cd set including their new ep and a full size hardbound book.

I kinda want to get the new Cheap Trick, but haven't yet.

Now if we were talking 2016 releases I've listened to on Spotify, that would be a way bigger list of albums.

Same here. This has been a rather good first quarter for music, and I really only know that thanks to Spotify.

I wasn't even supposed to buy that Metal Church, it was a total impulse buy that didn't help us out fundraising at all. Total irresponsible fanboy move.

I need to revisit it. I spun it a few times when I initially got it, but nothing really stood out and I shelved it. It's not bad, but I don't think it's very memorable either. That opinion could change though.

Just picked up Metal Church's XI this past week, bringing my total of 2016 releases thus far to... three.

Just picked up Anthrax "For All Kings" to go along with Megadeth's "Dystopia" and Wolfmother's "Victorious". I'm definitely going to get the new Metal Church and the new Cheap Trick.

The new zakk wylde is good? I presume it's an all accoustic release no?

Yes, it's primarily acoustic, although there is a few electric guitar solos in a couple of songs. Zakk sings in a lower register voice for the most part, which suits this better.

The only minor complaint I have is that it drags on for longer than it needs to be. At 15 tracks, I start getting a little sleepy by song 10 or 11. Not good for work. Or driving home.

If you're a fan of his other acoustic works, you'll find something here to like, but it's hardly an essential purchase.
