| When I became a member of the Heart Of Metal I went through the archieves to get an idea of everyone's tastes. However, there are some bands I know various people here would like but are never mentioned. So instead of doing a ton of different topics on this I figured I'd group them all into one. What does everyone think of these or even know who they are?:
Cryonic Temple (classic metal meets modern power) Human Fortress (power metal) The Revoltons (symphonic power metal like Divinefire) Circle II Circle (I'm sure most have at least heard of them: Zach Stevens band after Savatage) Cronian (side project of Borknagar's Vintersorg) Daath (death metal) Dawn Rider (side project of Majesty's Tarek Maghary) Dynasty (Christian power metal) Majestic Vanguard (ditto) Galloglass (power metal) Haggard (symphonic/death/gothic) Ice Age (progressive metal) Octavia Sperati (gothic metal) Edenbridge (symphonic power metal) Seven Angels (female fronted Christian power/progressive) Trail Of Tears (gothic metal)
I might have overlooked but I'm pretty positive that no one here has mentioned them (No Life Til Metal and Metal Metropolis websites not included on some of these).

| Daath is a very underrated & overlooked band. i was just listening to Futility sometime last week.
i also like Octavia Sperati very much. Eyesore recommended them to me sometime back. i bought both cds the very same day from Amazon.
Circle II Circle & Haggard are also very good. _________________

| Circle II Circle is on there, although I only have the first album. Cronian I have. It's in an endless pile of "to be reviewed" CDs. Not a fan of Seven Angels. I had the CD, but traded it off. Thanks for the suggestions. So many great bands and CDs, so little money. | |

Thanks for the suggestions. So many great bands and CDs, so little money. Well I know Cryonic Temple, Majestic Vanguard, Human Fortress, The Revoltons, and Galloglass are on those CDs I sent you a while back but as for the others, most I just recently got into. Anyways, glad to be of assistance. As far as so many great bands and so little money I know ALL to well how that is (16,000 in credit card debt and only one part-time job). At this point in time I will only be able to buy 3 new CDs or 6 used CDs a month (I was buying 6 new to 12 used a month until recently).

CJSS Pestilence I was a big fan of Pestilence's most critically slammed album Spheres but never listened to them much else (that was around the time I lost interest in death metal) as for Athiest I heard of them but never really listened to them and I'm not sure if I know who CJSS is but again there are a lot of rare 80's metal bands I don't know much about.

That's currently my favorite Christian band. They are great. Similar to Stratovarius - but original too. Chastain does indeed rule. They've been one of my favorites for a long time. Their 90s stuff isn't so good though. But their 80s albums are untouched. |

| I like Human Fortress! Great power metal with touch of folk, got their Defenders Of The Crown, not sure if they have released anything else, or if they are still active? Also listen to Trail Of Tears, they are from a town not far from my home. Metal Metropolis has reviews of both Majestic Vanguard and Circle II Circle. And, yeah Chastain rules | |

| In the list, yes I have heard some.
Haggard are great! Daath are good. Cryonic Temple are good. Crematory are horrible. Atheist and Pestilence both are awesome.
the rest don't interest me whatsoever.

I actually am one of the very, very few people who enjoys Spheres. I'm surprised people have such a low opinion of it. Atheist are an awesome band. Their best album is Unquestionable Presence. CJSS are an 80s traditional metal band with shred guitar solos. Musically, it's in the vein of Malice, Loudness, Vicious Rumors, and (especially) Judas Priest. World Gone Mad is an album of theirs worth checking out, although you can get their first two albums (WGM and Praise the Loud) on one CD now.

| Cryonic Temple (classic metal meets modern power) Have all 3 cds in limited editions thier last being the best, currently working on new cd!
Human Fortress (power metal), have their cd in my collection somewhere I think they are more Epic in nature.
The Revoltons (symphonic power metal like Divinefire), when this came out it got bad reviews but i think it has it's time and place i like it.
Circle II Circle (I'm sure most have at least heard of them:, I do have some but really haven't given them a chance!
Dawn Rider (side project of Majesty's Tarek Maghary), IMO their first cd lacks in production and quality. Majestic Vanguard (ditto), More progressive in nature with power overtures. Good band.
Galloglass (power metal), Highly recommend them good power metal.
Ice Age (progressive metal), IMO similiar in style to Tides.
Octavia Sperati (gothic metal), Female metal band their first cd bordered on black metal and their 2nd was a stepup to more of a melodic sound.
Edenbridge (symphonic power metal), I like their earlier releases but their latest release umm............
Seven Angels (female fronted Christian power/progressive), I beleive they are from Brazil and I do like what they sound like.
Trail Of Tears (gothic metal), Another in a long line of female fronted goth ala After Forever. Wargod48

| For some reason I just can't get into Trivium or Avenged Sevenfold. These bands are extremely overrated IMO. I know you were kidding, but a lot of metalheads really love these bands. I just can't figure it out. To each his own I guess. |

| Cryonic Temple - They are on my wantlist. I recently got one of their CD's. It came to Norway completly in 2 halfs! Never seen anything like it! lol Circle II Circle - Love all his albums. Great band! Dynasty - Have their last album. Never listened to it... Majestic Vanguard - Good band, nothing spectacular. Galloglass - on my wantlist Edenbridge - I used to be a fan, even saw them live. Grew abit tired of them, and haven't even added the 2 last albums I own from them to my site Seven Angels - great music, atrocious vocals! _________________ | |

| yeah.. we're clearly lacking some Venom in No Life Til Metal, you may say they're posers Ult, I agree, but there is no denying their influence, you might as well get rid of Slayer if you ain't gonna add Venom man. |

And I uploaded Elis' cover of Sabbath's "Heaven And Hell" at one point. Both killer bands. The new Visions Of Atlantis surprised me at how much better it is than their previous albums. I've had issues with them in the past, but on this latest album the fixed all the problems I had and even perfected them beyond what I could have imagined. The new album is ten times better than their previous albums. |

I have Cast Away and even though it is nothitng mind-blowing I think the songs are catchy and well written. I've never heard the first one (I hear it's the worse of them). That cover by Elis is killer and it is a shame that their old vocalist died. I've only heard Griefshire so I have no idea what her relplacement sounds like. If she sounds (and looks) as pretty as the old vocalist then I would probably like it.

The debut full-length isn't bad, but it's just sort of feels like a Nightwish clone, but not nearly as good. It's a decent CD and nothing more. Cast Away is great, but some songs sort of fell short of having a great hook, and the male vocals just sounded flat to me too much. The latest, however, is extremely catchy and the male vocals are awesome! I don't know what the guy did, but he stepped it up big time. The latest is nearly flawless, if you ask me. As for Elis, the only thing they've recorded with the new singer is a re-recording of "Show Me The Way" that'll show up on an upcoming single for the song. And though it has nothing to do with the music, Sandra is pretty hot. Haha. |
