| Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Recorded Feb-Mar 1988 at Musicland Studios in Munich, Germany Released Apr 11 1988 Produced by Martin Birch TunesMoonchild Infinite Dreams Can I Play with Madness The Evil That Men Do Seventh Son of a Seventh Son The Prophecy The Clairvoyant Only the Good Die Young I've made it clear in the past that I'm not a big fan of this album unlike many. It does have its share of memorable moments--Moonchild, Evil, Clairvoyant--and Evil happens to be one of my favorite Maiden numbers (thus the one I'm voting for), but a lot of this IMO seems to cannibalize what they've done in the past and perhaps prog it up here and there in a fairly rambling manner. In other words, it's a bit "been there, done that" for me. The keys sound good, and the mix is punchy. Lots of good things to say but down low on the list for my preferences. | |

| "The Evil That Men Do" for me. I remember being very disappointed when this album came out and I felt that Maiden were no longer on the cutting edge. I know this album is considered a classic now, but it was panned when it was released. | |

| I voted for the title track, with honorable mentions going to Only the Good Die Young (one of the most underrated Maiden songs ever) and The Evil That Men Do. | |

| The last of the great Maiden albums, IMO. In fact, I appreciate it more now than back in the day. It was the first Maiden album that was released after I became a fan, so I couldn't wait. I had huge expectations and was a bit disappointed at first, but appreciated the genius later. I bought No Prayer For The Dying and Fear of the Dark new, but ended up selling them. I would never part with Seventh Son. As for the song, "Can I Play With Madness" still kicks! | |

| My favorite Maiden album cover....well except for Live After Death maybe. I think I still have the white t-shirt somewhere. Voted for Can I Play with Madness. | |

| Infinite Dreams - my all time favourite Iron Maiden song.
I got my online persona MoonChild from the song from this album.
Can I Play With Madness was the first Iron Maiden song I remember listening (MTv days).

| Great songs all throughout, but clearly it's got to be the Clairvoyant. One of my all-time favourite Maiden tunes. | |

| I have never heard the entire album. Reading "The Evil That Men Do" in the responses, I can only hear Dale Thompson screaming it. Will scope it out & get back with my choice. _________________ | |

You need to remedy that! Great album that was a grower. It was initially a let down in the U.S. but that had more to do with metal going heavier. I personally think the production hurts the quality of the songs. The sound much heavier live. I picked the title track, what a monster of a song. Fantastic live track especially with 3 guitars. If you saw the Maiden England tour, you would know what I mean.

From March of 1987 thru the of summer of 1991, I was working at a studio, doing sound at shows, beginning a prison music ministry and not listening to much secular music. _________________

I wasn't too keen on this album when it first came out but now it's one of my favorites. Not sure what made it click but I love it now.
