| Down to 8 songs left. Incredibly 6 of them are from Brave New World! It is the oldest of the 5 albums, so possibly nostalgia already playing into it? Or is it just simply better than the rest?
We started with 7 songs each from the first three albums, 5 songs from Final Frontier and 6 from Book of Souls.
The only song from Brave New World that has lost so far in this battle lost to another Brave New World track! (In round 1 Out of the Silent Planet was voted to advance over The Thin Line Between Love and Hate). So Brave New World songs are steamrolling the playing field, being literally undefeated through the first two rounds.
But let's get to it - matchups for round 3:

I can't say I fully "get" Empire of the Clouds just yet. It's massive, but doesn't really go to enough places.
Dance of Death - vs - Blood Brothers
Quite easily. Blood Brothers gets tedious after a few listens.
The Wicker Man - vs - Brave New World
A decent opener, but a generic main riff. Brave New World takes this one.
Ghost of the Navigator - vs - Dream of Mirrors
This is the tough one right here. Two of the most progressive Maiden songs up to that point. I'm not a huge prog fan, but oddly enough I love both of these songs. I think Dream of Mirrors is the more memorable one, so I'll go with that. It's super close though. | |
